If Brad has played his last game, I'm going to be very sad but hopeful he resigns with us in the summer anyway. Given what Brock Nelson got, I'm pretty optimistic about the return for Brad.

I do think it's the correct decision. The past 15-20 have been amazing, but if they can get a couple high regarded assets they can turn it around pretty quickly I think. And they kind of need to especially with Pasta and McAvoy approaching 30 (insane btw).

Can't wait for 3 o'clock so I just know what we're working with moving forward. I've been glued to my phone the past week haha.

No you're not. There is a massive difference between a re-tool and blowing it up and rebuilding. If we're blowing it up then you're trading everyone including Pastrnak.

That's a problem for next year. It's coming.

Sooner people understand it the better.

This team is done. Swayman, Pasta and Charlie will be the last to go.

Then you're going scorched earth and rebuilding. Fans won't go for that and Jacobs knows it. This fanbase can't handle a mediocre season. They sure as hell wont tolerant 7+ years of a rebuild that (like most) will fail.

I understand. But we can't just trade everyone now. Swayman isn't even trade able at this point.

Next year isn't going to be better than this year if they go into it with the same core. There's something wrong in that locker room. It's not working.

You trade Marchand now because you can't do it next year is the point. You worry about pasta and Charlie in 2 or 3 years.

Keeping Marchand and giving him another contract is the exact opposite of what the bruins need to be doing. They are tied down by a handful of huge contracts from underperforming players and they need to jumpstart their youth movement sooner rather than later.

I have zero faith in the Bruins. Zero. They need to completely nuke the current roster and look to the future, but this is the same front office that refused to trade Eriksson and instead traded FOUR f***ing draft picks for Liles/Stempniak at the same deadline only to miss the f***ing playoffs. Idiot franchise gonna operate like a bunch of idiots. Content with mediocrity and a few home playoff dates (which they can't even achieve currently). I'm ready for it.

Braz and Kastelic are two of the only Bruins we needed to keep... size, grit, and still put up points. Traded for something we already gave up on?
Why?
Because Brazzeau is big ?

Can't skate, doesn't hit, doesn't fight, far from gritty, slow as can be, doesn't kill penalties, not on PP and we saw his offense dry up

He could be a 3rd liner on a team like Toronto but useless to Bruins. Not good enough to play on our 3rd line, would bring nothing to 4th

Wild certainly felt he was worth that return. I agree with them. Bruins need more of that, not less.
I was big on Lauko as a rookie. But he has 9 goals in 3 years combined..... and doesnt bring the toughness or power forward aspect of Braz. Dumb.
Not tough
Far reach to call him a power forward....more like big body is all. A lot more to PF than that

Swayman and McAvoy as "pillars" of a team = 2nd round exit ceiling. Pasta is the only current Bruins player I would consider a foundational piece for a legit contender, but will be past his prime by the time the Bruins as a whole return to that level.

With how cooked Marchand has looked at times I'd be weary of multi year deals. Ideally hes traded and then re-signs in the offseason to lead the tank on a 1 year deal and we go year to year.

If hes not budging on a multi year deal I let him finish his career out elsewhere.

They still need to sell some tickets. I don’t see them moving Pasta under any circumstances. Gotta have a poster boy.

They're not moving pasta any time soon. He's under contract for almost a decade.

Marchand doesn't fit the timeline is my point.

It was a good run but it would probably be better for both parties to move on.
