Ray asked to be moved so it was different. Now if Marchy asked to be moved then I’ll change my mind
He has to know the situation.
He knows he is declining
He knows he is dealing with injuries
He knows his age
If he is saying I only want 4 years not 2, he is opening the door to bring traded and sorry but this is a business and the team needs to put the team first.
Each player knows that trades are part of the business they are in

Why were the Patriots so good for so long..

Because they wouldn't over pay aging players with long term contracts

They're not moving pasta any time soon. He's under contract for almost a decade.

Marchand doesn't fit the timeline is my point.

It was a good run but it would probably be better for both parties to move on.
I agree some positive moves have to be made and signing Marchand to a 4 year extension is ridiculous. He has been a good player over the years but his body is starting to show the wear and tear.

Bruins better do some moves that show they are serious about righting this ship sooner rather than later. This may include trading Coyle, Carlo or Marchand , etc. .

I trust that he and the team have had extensive discussions. Right now it is all speculation by these supposed insiders. If it happens then it happens. My only hope it is because Marchand asked to be after being unable to reach an agreement on a contract extension. This simply cannot be botched because the backlash is going to be worse than what it was with Thornton.

If Mngt is foolish enough to give him 4-years, the last two will be played where he started, on the P-Bruins.

One year deal(s) going forward.

Every year I get to this day and remember that I should ask for the TDL date as a vacation day:nod: Getting zilch done at work trying to listen to the radio and constantly refreshing HF.
I usually do take trade deadline off but having to go in for further tests on Wednesday threw a wrench into those plans. Thankfully it all worked out :)

Don't move the goalposts. We are talking about the trade deadline which is a different beast than FA. If he wanted to walk July 1 then that's his prerogative as he's no longer under contract.
I didn't
You are saying the team should be loyal to the players but the players can leave as a FA
It's the teams prerogative to trade him as he is under team control
