Right, he basically is a lazy Coyle. He may play well for a few games motivated to play for a new team, maybe it sticks with him, but let’s see where he is at in a year
People said Coyle was lazy when he was traded here and for all his faults I'm not sure if ever use lazy to describe him. You could be right just saying 26 year olds can figure out the effort side of the game.

Man, Dallas broke out the checkbook today. New contracts for Rantanen and W Johnston, $12M and $8.4M AAV respectively.

Johnston extended for 5 years but at 8.4 that will end up being a steal for Dallas. Top point getter among all 20-year olds last year, top point getter among all 21-year olds this year and 7th overall in the league scoring since January 1st.

I was in the middle of Nebraska when Tyler Seguin was traded and limited connection to HFboards and no one knew why I was losing it. I feel that pain being around people who dont do hockey.
I can possibly top that. I was literally driving through corn fields in Northern Illinois, on a 2 hours drive, during Game 7 of Boston vs Montreal in 2008. I could not even get a radio signal to see if any local sports stations had score updates.

McKeen’s 2024-25 Yearbook - Zellers was a challenging prospect for NHL teams to evaluate in his draft year. He excelled at the Hlinka/Gretzky Cup and with Shattucks, showcasing high-end skill, vision, and competitiveness. His ability to consistently find the net and problem-solve is evident, but his NHL projection is complicated by his skating. Zellers relies on his hands and spatial awareness rather than dynamic speed. Although he’s agile and explosive on his edges, allowing him to exploit poor defensive coverage and cut into the slot, he isn’t as effective in linear skating. His quick release means he doesn’t need much space to score. However, there are questions about his overall skill level. If he can enhance his athleticism and physical tools over the next few years at North Dakota, his offensive abilities could make him a valuable complementary player in the NHL.

I love Bennett but I will not love his next contract
Yeah it will be a tough pill to swallow but this team needs leadership big time. Coyle was one the leaders. Middlestadt Is not, he needs someone on his butt cause he tends to get lazy. Marchand is on his way out sooner or later and can’t be the only voice.

If the don’t add any good players with leadership qualities this off season they will be the same as this season with no improvement
