2025 NHL Draft Prospects

Imagine if Chase Jette could skate really fast.

It would be Usain Bolt all over again on the ice.

No way can you Chase a Jette.
He skates pretty fast. Great shot though. Was absolutely whizzing shots in there. Small though and he's ordinary aside from buzzing around there and having a good shot. At best, he's William Whitelaw, and he could be a lot worse. Time will tell.

Well Michael Misa 6th is quite different from what I was expecting.

Zero Finnish players is exactly what I was expecting, however.

Half the list are NTDP players. Some warranted, but some (from what I saw at the recent U17 World Challenge) should not be there based on the fact.. that there are better players available :)
Seems quite NA biased, which really is not that strange considering he probably has no or limited viewings of many Euros.

But at an early stage, I am really liking the depth of the 2025 draft. Think it will be one heck of a first round.

2. Misa
3. Benak
4. Ryabkin
5. McQueen (though i like Martone here too)

Many of those NTDP players belong there. He did get some of them wrong though.

Schock has no business anywhere near a first round. He compares him to Quinn Hughes. I don't think he's even close. I think he's closer to a non-draftable player than a first rounder. Maybe he models his game after Quinn Hughes, but nowhere near the same offensive ability.

He has Cullen Potter too low. He says that he lacks playmaking, and says that it's basically a certainty he won't play center. I don't see how someone could say he lacks playmaking. I also wouldn't be so sure he will move off center. There's almost two years until drafted. He could move off center, but what if he grows an inch or two? Jack Hughes and Connor Bedard are both, at tallest, 5'10. Potter is 5'9.

I think he should've included Emile Guite. He admits in the comments that his skating is why he's not. It's not good, but Matthew Wood was a first round pick with some of the worst skating I've ever seen from a legit NHL prospect. Guite's skating isn't that bad for him to not be a first rounder.

Early top 10.

1. Hagens
2. Misa
3. Martone
4. McQueen
5. Potter
6. Hensler
7. Schaefer
8. Boumedienne
9. Guite
10. Desnoyers

Haven’t watched the Russians play so far. None of the Finn’s look that good. Benak too small for top 10, but he’d be close. McKinney, Trethewey, Frondell, Nilson, and Conrad would also all be close.
