what on earth is he talking about
my guess, if at all related to Washington, is the idea of missing on two or three great coaches to come up with a perfectly okay one but that's only if it's specifically about Washington football and not about a guy literally just missing putts and tweeting about it.

Always a bit of a gamble for a first time HC though I did like BJ and how they would exploit in game play calls when the defense had one of their good corners out for a play.

Potential OC coordinator list:

A couple of them..

Darrell Bevell, Dolphins passing game coordinator/QB coach: Bevell is a four-time offensive coordinator and a two-time interim head coach who spent the past two seasons with Miami’s high-octane attack. Last year, he declined Washington’s interview request for its open offensive coordinator position that went to Eric Bieniemy. Bevell and Quinn were coordinators on Seattle’s 2013-14 NFC champion teams.

Brian Griese, 49ers QB coach: The former NFL passer went from the broadcast booth to coaching Brock Purdy the past two seasons. Purdy’s rise from the draft’s “Mr. Irrevelant” pick to a borderline MVP candidate says plenty about the quarterback’s overlooked talent and Kyle Shanahan’s offensive system, but Griese’s involvement is considered notable.

Klint Kubiak, 49ers passing game specialist: Teams want coaches from the Shanahan tree. Like Griese, Kubiak interviewed for the New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator opening last month. Kubiak’s one year as the Vikings’ coordinator in 2018 resulted in Minnesota ranking first in fewest turnovers and 14th in points scored. Rick Spielman, part of Washington’s coach/GM search committee, was the general manager for that 2018 campaign.

I want Brian Griese. Ive always liked him back to his college days. He was Co-Starter with Tom Brady on the last Michigan champ team. Learned under John Elway on the broncos, Made some pro bowls. Learned from Mike and Kyle Shanny 1st hand and Yeah that my pick.

And he has to be given credit for Purdy hes the QB coach.

Not going to lie a 15 year old me had his Broncos jersey #14

Griese might be better then Ben Johnson. The more I look into him the more I like. Turning Purdy into a MVP contender as last pick is quite impressive.

He was also teammates with CMC dad Ed on those broncos teams. I would trust him with a top pick QB 100% and let him pick out of the 3

Our new GM is from SF and he knows all this... Make. It. Happen.

Yea, I like either of the SF guys, Griese/Kubiak. Griese apparently pushed the team to draft Purdy. Though, Kubiak has OC experience so he may be more ready.

There’s also Mike LaFleur, McVay’s OC. He doesn’t get to call plays there, so maybe he’d like that chance.

Frank Smith, OC in Miami. Same deal, doesn’t get to call plays under McDaniel.

So a few Shanny tree guys and a McVay one. Please get this hire right, so our new QB stands a chance.

With our #2 pick in the draft I want the guy who trained with Brady and Elway and then trained Purdy. Get him on this staff please

Griese is a QB and knows all of both Shannys play books. I wouldnt worry about him turning into a turd play calling.

So in your mind he simply did not consider the fact that we have the second pick and Williams is projected to go N1OA? I mean, it’s not like it didn’t factor into the decision whatsoever, and clearly it didn’t move the needle enough for him to take the plunge. It’s something he absolutely took into account and it’s not like he couldn’t watch 15 min of YouTubes and make a couple calls to some people he knows surrounding his old college team. Conversely, many had openly argued that having the chance to draft a QB at N2OA was part of what made Washington an attractive destination. Others had argued that specifically the chance to coach two UNC alums at QB in Washington would be appealing to BJ in particular. That’s obviously not the case.
Not buying it, bad take to hype the possibility of drafting Daniels #2.

He also missed a season with a torn ACL from tripping over his dog so he’s got that going for him also…

Imagine. Would make all of this okay

fwiw Charley C was on the junks this morning, for lack of a better way to put it, he put his stamp of approval on Quinn.

He did qualify him, and any HC for that matter….theyre only as good as the staff they assemble.

IIRC, he also was on board with the one assistant already tapped to be on the staff. The DC I believe?

He also wanted no part of a fingernail painting football player. lol

I wouldn't get too excited about Parsons following Quinn here. Parsons made this quote on Jan 11. After they got blown out in the playoffs, Parsons was throwing the defensive game plan and defensive play calling right under the bus, saying "I can only run the plays that are called" and things like "We were just outperformed, out schemed"

So the love fest may have ended with the 48 point performance.

He isn’t coming here…money talks, but why would we pay him if we’re doing a rebuild as was rumored.

I’m never interested in making a free agent the highest paid player in the league ever again we failed so many times
Sadly — for 95% of the NFL players, their first 5 years (Hi Drafting!) is where the true value is.

UFA signing are such a crapshoot, simply bc of this.

I DO think that OL FA’s are worth the money, as they tend to last a while. Skill positions players (save maybe some DB’s) melt away pretty fast.

It’s gonna be a fun summer, IMO

Per Schefter, Saints are hiring Klint Kubiak as their OC.

I hope Peters & co. work a little faster here so we don’t end with Chip F***ing Kelly.

Most of the top FAs will likely get the tag it seems the last few years.
