I don't get why no one else is talking about the coaching after two absolutely horrible performances? I'm not saying that we fire him, but he clearly needs to figure out how to get this team ready for games and know what his lineup looks like. He keep's shuffling guys around to the point where no one has chemistry.

Like we are heading into game 58 and Knoblauch is still trying to figure out his lines. It's no surprise that the Podkolzin-McDavid-Kapanen that was thrown together went -3 last game. Add in 2 powerplay goals against and an empty netter and that was the difference last game.

I honestly get the feeling like Knoblauch needs an all-star team for guys to look good this year. Everyone (besides Draisaitl) has seemed to regress this year.

The coaching had a huge effect on the playoff run too.

The Oilers were borderline impossible to score on in the back half of every series they played.

Listen at the 44minute mark. Seravellie interviewed Bowman for his Frankly Speaking podcast that drops Wednesday.

Frank referenced that pod, and that he emphatically asked if the Oilers are going to be getting a goalie at the TDL, “and he said No.”

Bouchard had a bad weekend. So did Ekholm, so did McDavid, so did both goalies. Kulak was terrible. Henrique should be arrested for grand theft for all he's accomplished this year. Klingberg scored a goal but he is absolutely terrible defensively. We've got a lot of problems; they're hardly limited to Bouchard.


Vejmelka is the best option out there for me but we need Utah to fall out of the race

Avs have blown both games since the break, it's just not as lopsided because Blackwood actually stops the puck now and again. Marner and Matthews have been sleepwalking in Toronto largely too but they're winning because Stolarz can actually stop a puck and some of their depth players are showing up instead of being in Cabo mode.

I don’t know that would matter. It’s not like Skinner just hit the ditch this weekend.

He’s been a fundamentally unsound goalie for a long time. He’s had previous performances as bad as this recent stretch. The fact that none of that drives him to change is the message.

It’s disappointing for sure.

McDavid, MacKinnon, Makar, Marner, Matthews, Reinhart all have a combined 0 goals in the games since the break ended. Tkachuk injured, etc. etc.

It’s more so of their condescending attitude towards the fanbase which annoys me further. I’m not saying every Oiler fan including myself are always the brightest or smartest, but I would easily say I would never say shit like Chris Tanev isn’t an upgrade over Cody Ceci or that there’s no visible backup or 1B upgrades over Calvin fricken Pickard or Stuart Skinner. Eye test and advanced stats both show our goalies have been the weakest link. It’s only the media bootlickers who continue to regularly talk down to the fanbase acting like they know better when they clearly don’t.

Don't think anyone on the Canada team or USA team would agree with that. Nor would hockey fans. Nor would the NHL's marketing department. That tournament was the best thing to happen to the NHL in decades.

Everyone and their grandma knows that McDavid had "Get a Golden Goal Moment Like Crosby In 2010" on his "must do" list. He's done it. Now there's only one thing really left.
