Last time i commented here was when i said Team USA looks to be one of the most talented groups ever, if not the most. Got clapped back with "they do stupid mistakes". Well does it really matter if you do stupid mistakes at U20, if you can score 10 goals against the team that was praised as "doing great, might be a dark horse in this tournament"?
The amount of skill in Team USA is incredible this year, i will be surprised if anyone can outscore them. Easily the favorite on any match, only thing that will beat them is some crazy major penalties or clown officials or their goalies letting every shot in.
agreed. I said same thing and they’ve done nothing to show me they aren’t the most talented WJC team ever. It’s insane. There might be better teams but the skill level here is off the charts

Both Finland and Slovakia were pretty unconvincing. Finland's goaltending looks shaky too. Big failure if boys can't achieve final game in this tournament. Canada is out and Snuggerud back. Good times.

So far about as much as I expected...playing against teams with such lower skill level can be ugly as Latvia plays a boring d minded system. Floodgates should open soon however and this should be a blowout

I don't like these games in the quarters because it is just walk in the park and then they need to do that big step up in the semis.

Even if we play only 75% of our capability vs the Finns, we should be successful. The team's confidence is sky high, they've been flying around out there since the Slovakia game.

I get what you mean, but it's not like the Stanley Cup with 28 wins. You literally only need three wins. Give me an easy victory, if it can be had.

Canada got the tough road, and look how it worked out for them.

Yeah, when every game is do or die from here on out, you take every cupcake you can get.

Assuming no upset in the late game, it's going to be Finland next since they have a lower seed than Czechia and we have a higher seed than Sweden.

If somehow Switzerland beats Sweden, we get Switzerland.

Anyone know who has been Team USAs top 5 players in this tournament so far.

As a longtime USA Hockey fan, I can tell you that plenty of talented US Team dreams have died in substandard performances in the QF/crossover game. Not today!

This US team controlled the game today, and Coach Carle had them ready to go, hitting all the right buttons - starting Fowler to rest up Augustine for a potential back-to-back, and moving Snuggerud to the fourth line to make that line far more dangerous and to give Oliver Moore an opportunity to get his scoring going on the top unit.

Assuming Finland is the opponent, the Yanks will need to watch the overloads.

There's no scientific way of knowing, but my opinion is it's been Gauthier, Brindley, Nazar, Augustine, and Chesley.

Howard and Hutson have been good also. Pohlkamp has been effective for barely playing.

Not that many players are playing bad, so you could pick a lot of them.

Sweden wins in OT, so we get Finland next, and it'll be the early game most likely on Thursday because the hosts Sweden get the late game usually.

pretty sure I saw something that said the Swedes want the early game for some reason

As for top 5 discussion, if you're going off of the whole package and not just mainly points, Ryan Leonard probably deserves to be in the conversation.

Been the best and most consistent of the BC line, and has probably been a bit unlucky to not find the net more often than he has.
