False alarm for Canadian fans lol. But in all seriousness, I hope all is well with the kid and his family.

I will happily eat my words if Canada wins gold, but this might be the worst group of goaltenders they've ever brought to this tournament.
Yeah, unless DiVincentiis somehow finds his 2023 playoff form I think the skaters are gonna have to seal the deal for Canada. Don't think the goalies will. Canada should be happy if they don't give up too many soft goals.

Self inflicted though. Canada had better goalies available.

I get if they brought one of Rousseau, St-Hilaire, or DiVincentiis. They brought all three though who are high floor, low ceiling goalies on a team that will need someone with that high ceiling. I get you want that Connor Ingram type safety blanket. There are serious concerns about those three being able to elevate their games to the level of a Gold Medal WJC team that's going to need more than a goalie that doesn't lose them a game. The '04 group of goalies is just not good especially when DiVincentiis is clearly injured. It's just a weird group of goalies and we're going to need the players up front to be the absolute best they can be.

Any chances for Benson or Poitras to get released?

Korchinski seems like a long shot.
Benson has zero points in his last 5 games and he's been invisible so... I have to believe he will.

On the other hand, he played 17+ minutes.

Korchinski seems like a long shot.
Depends how long he is off.

If there is a family issues, I doubt they send him to Sweden over Christmas.

Maybe might get benson and/or poitras but haven’t heard anything about that. Bedard and wright are for sure staying with their teams they proved everything they had to last year wouldn’t make sense to risk injury.
Why would Bedard and Wright be more at risk of injury at the world juniors then in their current teams?

They're not. That's why I never understood the argument.

Example : Kirby Dach. Yes, he got injured at the WJR's, but he's also been injured (over and over, again) in the NHL.

Just finished watching Chris Peters (prominent U.S hockey guy)thoughts on the U.S, Swedish, and Canadian entries and as expected he is really bullish on the U.S and Sweden entries this year and not so much on the Canadian team though he admits you cant count them out.
Cant say i disagree with him if you look at the situation and I doubt many people would but it shows what an opportunity is available this year. Time to start putting some stuff on the locker room board for this team, motivation is going to have to be more key then usual this year.

The quote on the bulletin board: “You can’t count them out.”

Not sure how motivating that is, to be honest.

That was about the most positive thing he said about the team so keep that in mind, he gave them pretty short schrift

You gotta get the war drums beating somewhere. He came up just short of writing us off.
