I don’t really buy any of the stuff that’s out there.

I realize that other teams leak things too, but the Guentzel stuff seems like the most obvious “try to get the most out of the hurricanes as possible” leak ever.
At this rate, the price will be so high that Carolina will be forced to include DeAngelo in a Guentzel deal

That doesn't work if there is anything after the number. You have to replace twitter with x and cut all of that garbage.

Weird, I haven’t had any issues so far modifying just that part of the URL. now I’ll know if I don’t see it working, thanks!

This is bullshit. The teams in the tax exempt states have that advantage. That 5.75 million is 6.5 in New York. There needs to be a soft cap to adjust for this. Heavily taxed teams in Canada, New York, California, etc can go over the hard cap by the percentage of which the contracts are taxed in that state.
I disagree, there are many pros & cons to any NHL city. Most players also want to live in larger metropolitan cities, which typically have higher taxes. The lower taxes are the only leverage some smaller cities have. There are just so many things to take in account, should Canada get some sort of financial advantage because of how shit their weather is? It's not fair that California & Florida have beautiful weather year round.

This is Dubas' MO. Create media pressure to get what he wants. Very millenial of him. Ill say this, I dont want Guentzel on the Canes, but I hope they give up a haul for him.

I know that Glass is good for the Ha-Ha's but I have no problem with him being involved. Most coaches sucked at the game.

He made a career out of fighting guys bigger than him, so if he can teach Rempe some defense and maybe impart some wisdom about picking your battles, that's all well and good.

Those are the types of guys who often had strict regimen's of diet and nutrition, workouts, etc. He kept himself in the league with below average skill so they are often the guys who worked harder than hundreds of others to make it happen for themselves.

I would like if we moved Lindgren for Graves or Samuelsson. Samuelsson preferred, but both would be an upgrade, are signed resonably and clearly none of the LD that are worth a damn that we thought would hit UFA are going to. Or if they do, apparently have no desire to come here.
Is it me or does it seem like he is always injured? I know Lindgren has had his share of injuries as well just saying.

"My understanding is that there might have been something offered to him in the ballpark of $50 million, $8.5million x 6, and as of now he's not signed let's just put it that way," revealed Kypreos on Friday.

What is Guentzel's next contract going to look like? Anyone have a guess?

A lot. But the future is now. The way Guentzel gets to the middle and gets shots off is a desperately needed trait on this team. I still am distrustful of these reports.

I'm not sure I hate that contract and I wonder if he's more concerned with signing to an aging team than he is with the contract offer.

Guentzel may see the writing on the wall in Pittsburgh. Life after Crosby is coming much sooner than anyone thinks.

I agree but am biased. If a national corporation were opening identical offices in NY and Dallas/Vegas/Sunrise FL, I guarantee you the payroll budgets would be different.

That said I doubt it will ever even be on the table. NHL owners collectively seem prettttty interested in doing everything possible to keep player costs down. Any move that would only selectively benefit a handful teams seems like an even further stretch.

Guentzel is real buddy buddy with Crosby though so unsure if he really wants to leave. Could just be a "want to test the waters and see what's out there" thing
