I’m genuinely grossed out by the amount of people here that are okay with the man that made the Pavel Buchnevich trade making the Pavel Buchnevich trade.
Wennberg to NYR is still the most recent confirmed trade on Sportsnet's website. Guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow for more action...
Until we have a 1C who doesn’t suck and not two black holes in our top 4?I love seeing people say we need to build for the future
How much longer into the future do you want to wait?
Gotta give people a second chance. It will never happen though.I’m genuinely grossed out by the amount of people here that are okay with the man that made the Pavel Buchnevich trade making the Pavel Buchnevich trade.
They're the same guy and you can only have so many guys making $8M. Minute munchers are great for lots of teams but aren't as valuable for cup contenders. What are you arguing here? Hanafin is a superior player to skjei. Are you saying skjei is the better player???
He traded Buchnevich based on the cap, what don’t you understand.I’m genuinely grossed out by the amount of people here that are okay with the man that made the Pavel Buchnevich trade making the Pavel Buchnevich trade.
He literally went out and gave Goodrow 3.6 mil a year after dealing Buch for the cap. If we could make 3.6 million work for Goodrow we could make 5.5 million work for Buch insteadHe traded Buchnevich based on the cap, what don’t you understand.

I know you're being facetious, but one of these things is REALLY NOT like the other.First we chased out Dagoon and now boppop. Soon we will have nothing left except edjovo and puckluck
Edge tooFirst we chased out Dagoon and now boppop. Soon we will have nothing left except edjovo and puckluck

My dude, Drury turned Nils Lunqvist and a 2nd round pick into Gabe Perault and Alex Wennberg. GM-ing is a long game, and Drury won this one in a blowout. It's whatever. It's ok, but it is an overpay, a bit. It's not the end of the world but at some point it would be good if the GM could win a larger percentage of these transactions. The discussion could end there if the sunshine pumpers didn't need to turn every mistake the GM makes into ten pages of finger wagging and lecturing on how he's really great.
Just accept that it is what it is and move on.

That goes without saying.Edge was a better example.

It's not sunshine pumping...it's just reality. Drury has built a team from not in the playoffs (let's call that the Buch years), to one that's perennially in the playoffs, and currently one of the best teams in the league. He has done an objectively good job. It would seem pretty easy "to accept that and move on"...but every fan is different I guess.
