Brodzinski stinks. He can skate and occasionally runs into a point or 2. He does nothing else. AAAA player. Sort of reminds me of Gauthier. There is a reason he is 30yo with very few NHL games under his belt. Chytil's injury and Bonino's demise are the only reason's he is here. Thank God they upgraded.

HF crashing after the imminent Guentzel trade will be nothing compared to when Drury finally sacks up and gets Tomasino from Nashville ;)

They just need a warm body there. Kakko, Wheeler, Vesey, who else has tried there? If Kreider and Zibanejad at least merchantize on the man advantage, I can tolerate. Wennberg with Cuylle and Kk might be the de facto second line behind French Italian bread.

Brodzinski has his uses but some people have fallen in love with league minimum cannon fodder

except they'll play 10mins a night so that the "shut-down" goodrow line can play 15

Kakko has real value to this team in a 3rd line role with Cuylle and Wennberg. Trading him as part of a package for a RW1 just opens up a big hole on RW3. Sure, Vesey can fill that hole, I guess, but he’s not Kakko. Kakko is a possession monster. He dynamic in a cycle game and I think he will thrive in that role with that kind of system.

That being said, it does make some sense to move him in the offseason in a hockey trade. He’s an RFA with arbitration rights. He’s 1 year from UFA. Assuming he eventually wants to get paid, is he willing to sign a long term deal, considering what the team would be willing to pay him (3-4.5M)? Probably not. A show me deal? Sure, he wouldn’t have much choice but the team clearly doesn’t believe that he’s a top 6 player worthy of PP time. Frankly, if I’m the player, I’m looking to move on if possible to an organization who will commit to me as a player so I can maximize my value and skills. Also part of the equation is the Rangers have Othmann, Berard, Sykora, and Perreault coming up.

Let him step up in the playoffs in a depth role and give the coach flexibility with the lineup for a playoff run, then reassess in the offseason. If you remember, Chytil had 8 goals in 67 games then scored 7 in 20 in the playoffs. The next year he had 22 goals and 45 points. Sometimes, guys need to find the right fit in a group before they can really develop. Kakko has a good role for him on this team as a RW3 and is an important part of the lineup. Trading him now would be a mistake, depending, but especially for a rental, would be absurd.

What are you arguing here? Hanafin is a superior player to skjei. Are you saying skjei is the better player???

Not going to lie. Would love to see Buch come back. We would have a deep forward roster.
