Tampa is probably hedging the bet on whether they can pull the trade for Hanafin

I'd be in on lindholm for a discount to "help" vancouver if they go for guentzel. probably wouldn't be bad for a 3C, just not great if you're relying on him to be one of your top C's

He’d be even worse as a 3c. Guy is a pure passenger. He would be better off centering Panarin and we hope Panarin makes him look good.

Though do you know the GM of Colorado actually is? Because it's not Joe Sakic anymore. And hasn't been after the cup.

Regarding Byram, top picks usually hold their value decently well. And Byram was really good in the cup run with the Avs. Also, Byram also had the same kind of problem as Laf and Kakko have here: he's stuck behind Makar and Toews. Now Colorado did give him a shot to take over Toews, but it didn't happen, and it was obvious they were going to trade him at some point after they signed Toews. Byram can still become a first pair defenseman, but it was not with Colorado.

I think Drury is still going after Guentzel, and if he lands him we'll all feel a bit better.

Hanifin is still out there. He's been my guy for months but I just dont think the Rangers A. see the defense as a major problem or B. see it as a problem that can't be fixed until the offseason. Team's have won with worse d-cores, but theyll be asking a ton of Fox and Miller and Schneider need to break out over the next month or so.

What teams won with less? We have a undersized crash test dummy blackhole on offense and a guy that can barely move in the top4

We nearly got to the finals 2 years ago giving playoff starts to Braun, Nemeth, and a rookie Schneider. Maybe we get a 7th D for depth but Jones already fills that role unless he's traded. D isn't Drury's priority here.

At this point I’d be happy about trading for Guentzel. All the other options outside of Buch do nothing or are depth moves and I’m worried Drury will do something dumb as shit.

Maybe Drury is circling back on guys like Tuch or Jenner? Im sure he'd much rather add a guy with term than a rental, even if Guentzel is clearly much better than both.

I don’t think so. Buffalo isn’t trading Tuch and Jenner apparently isn’t available. Plus I think I’d rather have Guentzel than Jenner despite the term.
