Hanifin is still out there. He's been my guy for months but I just dont think the Rangers A. see the defense as a major problem or B. see it as a problem that can't be fixed until the offseason. Team's have won with worse d-cores, but theyll be asking a ton of Fox and Miller and Schneider need to break out over the next month or so.

I'd be in on lindholm for a discount to "help" vancouver if they go for guentzel. probably wouldn't be bad for a 3C, just not great if you're relying on him to be one of your top C's

I'd trade Kakko for Byram way before I trade him for any of the other lame players that have been mentioned.

Getting a 22 yr old D would be a "hockey trade". Swap of opportunities.

However! He did just say Vancouver and Edmonton dont feel good about their chances to get Guentzel. Who does that leave?

this…. I don’t trust a word he says. And everyone can calm down about Kakko. He’ll be here post TDL.
He has the rest of the season/ playoffs to prove he’s an integral part of the team going fwd.
If he’s meh, it’s likely he’s dealt at draft/offseason if they feel Berard can bring what he brings or better for a fraction of the price.
My guess he’ll be dealt for a late 1st or a cost controlled young D man or D prospect.
Gus will price himself out and there will be some urgency to have some steadiness/with youth on the 3rd D pair
