I dunno that the Rangers are "running out of options" like Staple wants to say. Don't make stupid and bad moves "just because". The team has plenty of holes it could fill but you get fleeced for someone like Wennberg then what are you doing anyways.

nah no way, but Byram is not in the same league as Miller. it's not realistic and i'm not sure what it would actually look like but adding Walker and Mittelstadt would've really moved the needle.

I called for a Schneider for Mittelstadt trade on here weeks ago, and the vast majority of posters here mocked the idea.

if you stand pat then you should just rebuild. they built this team, in two years your best players are falling off a cliff.

Yeah I'd get rid of Mika, Trouba, Goodrow and maybe Lindgren this offseason.

With the assets I'd get back for that I'd go shopping for a young top 6 center and a young first pair defender. You could always just sign someone like Hanifin outright then, too.

If you follow that plan, you have a core of Laf, Kakko, Perrault, Othmann, Cuylle, and Berard/Sykora on the wings, and Chytil at center with Trochek around to be a glue guy for a while still. Go get a center. Kreider and Panarin aren't ancient yet but they can begin to be phased out. You don't need a full rebuild but you keep adding youth.

If we go all in on Guentzel, I am fine with it. He is a difference maker.

If we stand pat or do very little, I'm fine with it.

If we can get Wennberg for a reasonable price (not a 1st). I'm fine with it.

If we trade a 1st round pick for Frank f***ing Vatrano I may just quit watching this team all together.

I don't disagree. Just because we didn't do it, doesn't mean we even had the option to. Sometimes GM's are stupid. I bet a ton of other teams would have ponied up more for Buch when we traded him, instead Drury just calls up STL and offers him up for nothing.

Man, I don't hate this, but I don't see how it happens. Mikka has really pissed me off this year and assuming they don't "win it all" then this core is obviously showing its flaws and needs a revamp at least. Not sure how you get rid of all of those guys though. Just starting with Goodrow Trouba and Lindgren would probably be good though

That's an awful trade on the Rangers end. Schneider has more value than Byram, who hasnt been good and has concussion issues.

Get me Guentzal, Wennberg and a physical dman that is capable of playing the 5-6 role to swap out with Gustafson as needed with out moving Othmann, Perreault and Kakko and I'd call that a win.

no, you said stand pat and I said IF you do that then you might as well blow it up. we arent blowing it up and we arent going to stand pat so that means they will add just like they have every deadline since drury took over. it's not rocket science...

Sure, and no where did I say everyone isn't. My point was that Tarasenko doesn't make an already great team worse. There are still favorites and underdogs; Florida should be the favorite going into any series baring some crazy injury.

THis core has been showing the same flaws for 3-4 seasons now.

that would probably be a fair offer but not something we should do right now. imo byram has way less value than schneider, buffalo got ripped off.
