Iglesias has an OPS+ in the 80’s, I wouldn’t call him a capable bat

Mayer is a lefty who has 20+ home run pop. If he’s iglesias with the glove I’m more than happy with that. I personally think he ends up a little better than average defensively at SS. That + 20 home runs at that position is an all star caliber player.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when it comes to Mayer.

He was zipping along great, got a shoulder injury (of which I know a whole lot about and have the large scars to prove), and immediately after said injury his numbers nosedived. That means we're supposed to think he sucks?

Can we see what he does/looks like when he's healthy again before we all lose our minds?* If you were super high on him before you still should be.

*I know not everyone has, but I am bewildered by those who have.

Yeah it's a strange narrative.

Guy gets an injury that directly affects swinging a bat, numbers reflect this. "Oh boy what a bust, good job Bloom/Red Sox"

I get being down on the team in general, and it's certainly warranted, but this ain't it.

Apparently the Phillies offered more money than the Dodgers did for Yamamoto

He was gonna be a dodger the entire time.

I expect nothing less from Pedey. I think we see him in the front office next year.
If he ends up in the front office, can you imagine the smack he throws at rival front offices? It will be epic.

As an aside, it was unusual for a Red Sox front office member to offer the conversation with Pedey, admit that Breslow is operating under parameters that were set by the organization, and follow it up later with a shot at Henry for "never being there." Is this the whiff of dissension from Kennedy?

Wanted to come here but the Sox didn’t want to give him more than 2 years. I’m ok with that. I would’ve done 3 personally

You've been okay with every single move the Sox have made, regardless of whose been making the moves. Is there a single solitary move this team has made post COVID that you didn't like? Because it seems to me you just like a losing baseball team at this point. No offense, but that's the way it comes off.

They're selling.
Why would they sell when the Red Sox are like an infinity stone to FSG

Why have FSG ?

My BFF owns a golf merch company and is working with FSG on golf acquisition with Saudis

He’s with Kennedy and all the folks and told me last week they are building all around the streets around there - they are moving their offices to there & will be able to look out windows and see Fenway

He looked at me with tilted head when I said they are selling

Msybe they will but he sure doesn’t think so and he’s in their offices and with owners

Are you talking about the advanced metrics he posted in the five whole innings he pitched last year after recovering from cancer? Those advanced metrics?

I'm not mad at the player signed. I'm mad at the philosophy behind it. That's what I'm most disgusted by. The Red Sox didn't try and target Hendriks or trade assets to say "this is a guy we believe in and can make our team better even after a missed season from an elbow injury and battling a life altering illness." They did none of that. They sat on their hands until they could pick over what was left like a bunch of buzzards flying over a carcass. They signed Hendriks to a one year prove it deal to throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. They waited until he was let go and became available at a price they were willing to pay in late February rather than getting it done in the early days of free agency. This team is lazy and lethargic in how it treats pitching and if you can't see that then I don't know what else to say to you. The way this team gets when it comes to signing pitchers has been enraging ever since they stiffed Jon Lester and overpaid to bring in David Price.

I just went on their web site and for Wed April. 10 vs Orioles section 32 row 4 tix $15

I used to grab those during hey day because non alcohol and I had my yutes so was easy to get - regularly paid 50-100 going back 10-20 years

If they went to cheep out then you aren’t getting $150 GS for Trout or Ohtani - you are getting $10-15 for Bobby Witt or Jose Ramirez

This offseason makes 0.0 sense unless Henry lost if when Boras busted their balls over Montgomery and said F this

They are really acting bizarrely

They are worth $4.5 B and about to develop surrounding area putting in condos, restaurants, shops, offices.

my bud has very good box seats but he sells half and concerned won’t be able to - I usually take a handful but I’m not paying $120 a ticket when I can go for $20 and by 4th be in row 5 by the field

They can’t possibly be this stupid to piss this season and on their season ticket holders

No alc. sections are by far the best value at Fenway. Always sit there, kids or not. You can drink a beer at the standing room concourse if you really need to. Love the 3rd base angle. Plus you get shade and can sit through a rain delay. Plus I can get BOGO with the kids nation offers.

Phil Perry, Matt McCarthy and Milikin are crushing it / even on Bruins

McCarthy with Perry is very good

Apologies for the hate - this threesome should be 10-2

Agree - so fantastic…absolutely my favorite seats and now $15

Cliff Lee was standing in LF below sec 32 pre game having a conversation with another player as 3 young boys kept yelling his number probably driving him nuts

My daughter about 10 was standing nearby watching - he glanced up I said ‘Cliff’ and pointed down above my kid - he smiled walked over and tossed it up and I handed to her (she was very happy but i was pretty jacked Cliff Lee flipped me the ball for her and smiled when she thanked him)

Still got it / nod my dog did not get

Devers not mincing any words at all today. Said owners are focusing too much on the future rather than the team they have. 1 year after the deal was done and already calling out ownership.

He'll be wearing a different uniform by August...

Wouldn't be shocked if he was dealt to the Cubs for pitching prospects.

I’m also pretty doubtful of a Devers deal, he has more value to the Sox than he does any other team. I also know I wouldn’t trade for that contract if I was somebody else.

Now I'll wait for the usual suspects to rip Devers just like they did Bogaerts for being truthful and honest. Devers just went up in my book.
