Many excellent NFL coaches were former players. Some former players will be good coaches, some not so much. Whether they turn out to be good or not, I know three things:Loved the player, is he coaching material? One just needs to look at the Edmonton Oilers as an example of what happens when you fill your staff with former franchise players
Beetle kept hammering home Robin Glazer being in these meetings - sounded pretty sexistI love this. I hold you in pretty high regard, but this might be my favorite post of yours.
Can I use it?
The only time I ever listen to sports-yak is when I see a clip on YouTube with a guest that I trust. Their job is to stir the pot and I’m at an age now where I am no longer entertained by pot-stirring. I typically don’t feel this way about many people, but there are certain sports opinionists that I wish would get parasites on their next vacation. I feel bad saying that, but I’d be lying if I said otherwise.Beetle kept hammering home Robin Glazer being in these meetings - sounded pretty sexist
Zolak was awful quiet and slowly added when you are offering contracts you have a specialist in there
I had no problem with 98.5 stacked with troll shows from 10-10 but their GM brought it to WEEI when he came over
Bertrand and Joe Murray the worst - Murray seems like someone I’d like personally but his over the top forced contrarian approach and lack of knowledge is a dangerous intersection
I do enjoy his food discussion though

Even when the local teams are winning, they spew all kinds of garbage. They pray for failure.well thats a pretty strong take. It's an industry and they have to do their jobs, and Im sorry in Boston if you're not a good team, they'll let you know

With a small handful of exceptions, they can all take a flying f*** at a rolling donut.
I’m glad they’ve decided to turn the page on the previous era. I have no beef with the Mayo/ Hightower decisions but with no track record it’s really just a coin flip. I’m rooting for their success. If it doesn’t work they can change these guys out. I’m more concerned with the GM position and the roster building. This offense needs to be built from the ground up. One draft won’t fix this. Many excellent NFL coaches were former players. Some former players will be good coaches, some not so much. Whether they turn out to be good or not, I know three things:
1. They want to be NFL coaches.
2. They need to get their start somewhere.
3. They want to succeed more than you want them to.
We will find out how good they will be. I’m sure Jerod Mayo didn’t text Dont’a Hightower out of the blue while he was sitting at home playing with his kids and asked him, “hey buddy! Long time no talk. What do you think about coaching the Patriots’ linebackers this year?”
I’m willing to give these guys a chance. Honestly, I’m not so much worried about the defensive side of the ball as the offense. The defense may take a step back, but it should still be pretty good. The offense is what needs the rebuild.
Even though Patriots won’t be Super Bowl contenders next season, I'm definitely excited to see how this goes. I’m sure they’ll be very improved over last season. I’m optimistic.
Honestly, I don't think its a sports-talk thing. I think its a New England fanbase thing. New England sports fans aren't happy unless they have something to bitch about. That's not a shot at NE sports fans, just an observation. The only time I ever listen to sports-yak is when I see a clip on YouTube with a guest that I trust. I think they are highly motivated and will probably have some success. I like their football IQs and thing we’re going to see some good coaching from them.I’m glad they’ve decided to turn the page on the previous era. Eliot Wolf comes from a tremendous football pedigree. I think that now that he’s out of Bill’s shadow he can make his own decisions. I’m pretty sure he’s in charge of personnel now. Again, we shall see.I’m more concerned with the GM position and the roster building. This offense needs to be built from the ground up. One draft won’t fix this.
I think there’s more than a little bit of truth here. As my old man used to say, some people would complain if their ice cream was cold. Many New Englanders fit that description.Honestly, I don't think its a sports-talk thing. I think its a New England fanbase thing. You could have a team riding the top of the league, and fans will find something to complain about. It just is what it is, and the sports talk gang is just giving the people what they want.
Cousins Mayfield R.Wilson… mehGot a bleacher alert update that the Pats could move the 3rd and go QB route in FA

I’m a Wolf guy because pretty much everyone who worked with him in prior stops raves on NFL Network or podcastsI think they are highly motivated and will probably have some success. I like their football IQs and thing we’re going to see some good coaching from them.

i think if they hit on 75% of their moves, they should post a winning record next season. And we proceed from there.
I have pretty much no interest in the NFL these days, but I'd like to see San Francisco win because one of their players is from my town.
Let's hear it for small town America making it to the Super Bowl lol
Rap making it sound like Patriots have decided on a QB with the 3rd pick. Unless they're trading and drafting JJ McCarthy. Its reported JJ McCarthy may be in the top 15.
