If we can't get Ridley. We're going to have to trade for Aiuyk or Tee.

Or pivot to MHJ and sign a QB in the later rounds. Can't go into the season with no clear #1. Just cant.
Can’t trade for them

This is a special WR draft

At 34 you take a cost controlled guy

This team is to far away from doing this

There are 15-20 WR and at 66 can probably get a starter caliber

Just me but I thinks it’s nuts to do this

Ron Wolfe would draft receivers in round 2 and nailed several his kid should do the same

To me non QB round 1 guys near the ball / round 2 are WR LB S RB

I don't think it makes sense for a contender to give up a valuable pick to pay someone 20+ million a year when money is probably tight but for a team with a lot of cap space and an offense like the Patriots where Douglas is the only guy who even has 1,000 yard pass catching potential, and no one has actually done it for the Patriots. Giving up pick 34 to get a 26 year old wr who has had 153 catches, 2,357 yards and 15 touchdowns the last two years is worth it.
FWIW... I'm not saying Aiyuk isn't worth the #34 overall pick.

I'm saying that the Patriots need to stuff as many good players on to the roster as possible. I'd rather sign someone like Ridley and use the #34 pick to try and get another good player, because having two good players is better than having one.

At this point it really seems like Ridley is a Jaguar at 4:01 tomorrow (Jags send a 3rd to ATL instead of a 2nd)

Talk about a hometown discount. He was very serious about loving playing here and wanting to play for Mayo

I'm cynical.

He had a big drop off in production last year. Him taking a 1 year deal is so he can prove himself and get paid big next year.

Still a good deal for the Pats. Good player at cheap money and good chance he outperforms the deal. I just don't buy the "I love this place" reason for the discount

Keenan Allen is still a great WR, chargers need to clear cap. I’d bring him in for a song and possibly try to restructure his deal
Of the four players most often mentioned as being available from the Chargers, I'd think he'd be the one that would be least likely to be traded.

Bet you could get Mike Williams for a 6th round pick, though.

Why suddenly so much hate for Drake Maye ?
Chris Simms said so (I personally have no problem with either him or Daniels at 3)

People say his numbers dipped but he lost a lot of talent around him and they didn’t fall off a cliff. To me he’s a more polished Josh Allen at that age. Maybe not super cannon arm like Josh, but a great one. With a huge frame and an ability to create plays with his legs. I like that he’s only 21 too, lot of developmental runway left.

He played with pretty much nothing on offense last year, so doesn't have as many great plays as Williams or Daniels. I also think the fact that he went to UNC is hurting his perception. People are afraid of Trubisky 2.0.

With how much Jayden Daniels has been getting hyped up and Drake Maye has been getting hated on recently, you would think Jayden Daniels is an absolute lock to go #2. The betting markets still only have Daniels as a slight favorite to go #2 though (and Maye was the favorite just a few days ago).

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the negative Drake Maye talk is being influenced by teams that want to trade up to take him.

Fan of Hooper

Consistently around 80% in catches/throws

This year 25/31

Not old and looked like still has game when I watched him

I’m a fan of a Henry/Hooper TE room - still would add another - Harrison Bryant another Browns is out there or was

Patriots added Gibson & Hooper who are both very good receivers and tough players

This will help compensate as they develop outside Guys

The second round at 34 there are going to be first round talents - going thru my list of wants now

Bunch of concussions and Patriots have Douglas but should look over

Signing Antonio Gibson a WR at Missouri and a converted RB who had a thousand yard running season was something I liked a lot. He’s a beast who can run after catch and is a bulldozer - his fumbling was one season and seems to be near the norm

Hopper is another sneaky good signing - really liked him smart great hands

The patriots can put out Henry, Hooper, Gibson, Douglas - need a boundary/X and draft a guy in second they will be all set especially in the middle of the field

Keenan Allen is one of those guys who will be able to play for as long as he wants with his route running ability. Never been a supreme athlete, he just gets shit done.

With Hunter Renfrow now released we shall find out if the New England Patriots really have changed their ways

Aiyuk is the guy I'd want.

I've had him on my fantasy teams for 3 years consecutively, and have watched him a lot. In particular, he's really come into his own this year and is poised to be a superstar #1 guy, especially when he can be a target hog amongst a poor receiving core (New England).

For Maye, the only concern (and I am totally reliant on former QBs telling me how to think) is Kurt Warner's breakdown of Maye's mental game.

Daniels concerns me due to his running style. The highlights I've seen show a North/South sort of running style where his straight line speed is incredible, but if he gets lined up by a DB he gets croaked. This seems to happen a lot. He's not really as shifty (IMO) as other running QBs I've seen. If he can stay durable, he might be something special, though.

I do think the Commanders showed who they’re going to be picking yesterday though.

You most likely want your backup to be the same type of player as your starter and they signed Mariota yesterday. I would be surprised if it’s not Daniels now for them.
