Teams that had a real need at QB have all looked elsewhere to fill the void, what's his market right now? Las Vegas?

The closer it gets to draft day the more likely it is he'll be cut outright.
Look, if Mac could fetch a pick, Fields is surely not going to get cut for nothing. Someone will pony up at least a pick, even if they have a decent qb situation. Like Dallas did last year.

Hell baby
All while talking about how you'll do things differently from the last regime..
Bringing back homegrown players for 2nd contracts is the polar opposite of the last regime

They sucked last year because they had a trash QB with bad WR and an inconsistent at best offensive line. They brought back their best WR and their only consistently good OL.

For instance, Onwenu was the best OL on the market imo- we really gonna criticize bringing him back? He certainly wasn’t why they were 4-13. He was actually probably a big reason why they weren’t 2-15.

Uche isn’t making any money unless he’s really good like the year before this one

Henry was easily the best TE on the market after Schultz signed

Bourne is a big locker room guy and is clearly talented

Do we really have a problem with these moves?

And on that side of the ball all they've done is resign the bad WR, bring back an OL and sign a 3rd down back.

Great job using the 100m cap space to improve the team. Resigning guys and signing 2nd rate FAs is exactly business as usual

No and yes.

No for all the reasons you stated.

Yes because there's also value in bringing in some new blood rather than just running it back.

I think we’ll definitely see some new blood, there is still plenty of cap. They just about retained everybody I wanted them to though

Yeah, I'm not mad about any of the guys they re-signed. I think I actually like all of those deals. I certainly don't hate any.

But it certainly is interesting at the very least.

If the Patriots are worried the Maye going to Washington and know Daniels doesn’t want to come here, I’d give a 5th for Fields

Take 3 and trade back for a bounty or Harrison

I’d like multiple picks including firsts
You aren't getting Fields for a 5th. A 3rd will get it done, though. Maybe a 4th if the stars align.

He means Zappe, actually.

I’m with you in that I like Daniels a lot more than Maye, McCarthy, Penix, etc. I feel like those guys are being talked about because of the position they play rather than their actual skills. Any QB other than Williams or Daniels would be a reach at 3 based on need vs where they should actually go.
Agreed.

I'm not a big fan of Maye and McCarthy is being overrated due to Michigan's championship in my opinion.

I like Penix more than Nix myself, that’s mostly why I said what I said. I’ll be uninspired if they draft Nix

My rankings:

1) Caleb
2) Daniels
3) Maye
4) McCarthy
5) Penix
6) Rattler
7)) Nix
8) Bazooka Joe
9) Pratt
10) Jordan Travis
I think once it gets past Williams and Daniels, there's a pretty steep drop off. If you like McCarthy or Penix or Rattler or Maye, that's okay. I'm fine with any of them in round 2. I said Nix mainly because he's a known name and projected to slide into the second round. Rattler too. Maye will be taken early so I don't think he's going to be around if they wanted to do MHJ with the 3rd and then QB in the second round.

Me going in
1. Onwenu
2. Hunter
3. Duggar

Kept all three

Get rid of the 2 QB & Parker & JuJu

They are half way there

I’d welcome back on team friendly deals

Bourne
Mack Wilson
Uche
Zeke Elliott

2 of 4 returned

Wanted

QB Brissett if taking QB high
WR - Ridley or Moody
Trade for Aiyuk
T - Jonah Williams
CB- bring back Gilmour

extend Barmore

No, I don’t. All these moves make sense.

I do however want to see them add some high end talent with all this cap space.

I like Ridley, but I think he’s using the Patriots to up his value in Jacksonville and he’s the best receiver on the market.

I want to see these guys make something happen, they’ve got lots of picks and cash to get it done.

So after 4 pm? (New season starts) Tomorrow the jags can announce the Ridley dignigb and avoid the comp as a second rounder and give a third as trade condition last year
