After those, a right hand scoring winger (exactly what we need) is available who's already excelling against men
Hasn’t he been playing mostly center though? Most people who watch him seem to place him as a 2C in the NHL.

If the Ducks end up picking 5th and the top 4 are Celebrini, Lindstrom, Levshunov, and Dickinson (in whatever order) then they will have a pretty tough decision to make IMO.

Could trade down. Calgary owns two picks in the first round, their own and Vancouver's first. The Flames are currently outside looking in for the playoffs in the Western conference, which could mean a potential lottery pick from #8-12. Picks 2 - 12/13 seem all interchangeable.

In that range, you have RDs Parekh, Yakemchuk, or Jiricek as well as RW BrandseggNygard. With the later round pick, secure a shutdown RD with Elick or Emery; if we picked a RD with earlier first round pick, then hope RW Hemming falls into the late 20s.

That is certainly possible if Calgary (or whomever) wants to move up. Such a strange draft after Celebrini.

It's too bad we can't see the Ducks rankings. There may be a clear cut second tier they see that we don't. Hopefully, whoever they really want drops to the Ducks at 5/6 (I think we pass Columbus and then the annual drop a spot and end up at 5).

That would be nice to see the org's rankings, but I bet we have better chances of knowing how long a player is out when listed day-to-day than getting that draft ranking! heh

I think it's too early to tell on players from #2-12 or 15. Still got the 2nd half of the season as well as the WJC-18 for the younger draftees before the draft.

As for our draft spot, we really don't know what the team will look like post TDL. Losing Rico is going to hurt our offense and PK some. Losing Lyubushkin could also hurt, especially if Lindstrom is taking his spot.

I feel like we could make some decent educated guesses on ducks list.

I also think the top 10 teams have complexly different players in their top 5, I’d be shocked if any teams had matching lists

I know deep down that we are not getting the 1st overall, yet i can't help letting myself get a little excited at the prospect of potentially getting Celebrini.

I think that means I'm delusional, right?
Then some posters are really going to cry about not enough Vets in the line up.

I don't know. I think about it a lot. As nice as one of the D from this class are available, Celebrini would be an unbelievable add to this growing forward core.

I feel like Celebrini almost gets underrated becuase of last years draft class

Celibrini is even a bit ahead of Hughes as a prospect IMO which is really saying something. He kind of reminds me of MacKinnon as a prospect but not sure he’ll ever have the same strength and power Nate does.

Regardless, he’s a surefire star in the NHL and the rebuild is over if the ducks get him

I mean. I feel like it's not a knock to say he's in the Carlsson, Fantilli, Michkov tier. Last year was just crazy stacked with top end talent.
he’s def in that tier…. Skill wise I wonder where he’d go last seasons draft…. Does he clear fantilli/carlsson?

I didn’t watch a lot of carlsson/michkov predraft…. But I think celebrini looks better than fantilli

I think he goes 2nd after Bedard

I’ve got him slightly higher than Fantilli and Carlsson. More raw explosiveness and skill to his game

Adding a talent like Celebrini would add to an (already) impressive group of guys that will get better. That said, I would be extremely disappointed if Anaheim really goes down and drafts Levshunov.

I’ve read different reports and analysis on him that echo the same thing, being unsure if his game will translate to the next level. I’ve watched some video - not all that impressed with his shot, and his decision making is a bit suspect. I don’t think he’s even that physical for someone his size?

While agreed, I'd hold my horses if we draft a defenseman  that's the one thing I trust our scouting staff with. Top-pick forwards as well, albeit I feel there's a lot of wrong possible picks with F's this year.

But yeah, not too worried about our top pick.

Levshunov is in the jiricek nemec and Mintyukov tier of d prospects, he’s best d prospect in draft and the most room to still develop. He’s a great consolation prize if we don’t get celebrini

Adding Celebrini would be awesome but would also mean we'd be giving up at least one, probably two of our current future core players because there's no way we'd be able to afford them all.

It's a good problem to have of course, but it would still make me sad

Best case scenario is still getting Celebrini but yeah, obviously changes would be required.
