He isn't 6'2 lol.

Elite Prospects calls him:

If he was 6'2 he would be listed as 6'2-6'4 not 5'11-6'2.

Yeah I know, probably under 6. His page on DU shows 6' 2" for some reason, hoping they have a time machine

I would be shocked if he is over 6'0 or 170 lbs.

Yeah same here. If I had to guess the Ducks end up grabbing Levshunov or Carter Yakemchuk. I see a lot of Manson in Carter, has that kind of toughness but is much more aggressive offensively. I havent seen him ranked any higher than 12, but I'd be surprised if he didnt go top 8.

Ive had him top 10 all year. He is 100% in the 9 player second tier IMO. It wouldnt shock me at all if they took him as high as #2, and would anyone bat an eye if the Ducks of all teams did it?

I'm not sold on Yakemchuk. Here is a report on his MyNHLdraft scouting profile page:

Steven Ellis - Daily Faceoff - November 8th: "Yakemchuk is skilled with the puck and makes smart decisions with the puck, but his defensive game can be a struggle sometimes. But at 6-foot-3 with his strong footwork, NHL teams will be excited."

But that's a Nov 8th scouting report. There'll be an updated one the closer we get to the draft and maybe Yakemchuk has improved his defense.

What don’t you like about levshunov…. I still like Eiserman, but not where we’re picking.

Celebrini, levshunov are my top 2 and if both are off the board I’d consider exploring options to drop down a little and get yakemchuk.

I think levshunov is pretty raw at this point, which makes him even more impressive. I think he’s on that Minyukov level of prospect, he’s built great, and physically strong.
Not a smart hockey player. Not good at reading the play. Poor decisions. Bad vision. Bad angles. I could go on.

Watch this video and let me know if you like what you see.

Watch this video. Carter Yakemchuk should be no where near the top 10 in this draft.

I believe it was Pronman who recently released his draft rankings and had Yakemchuk 3rd OA.

That's the second game of the season for Michigan State, which would also be Lev's second NCAA game as a freshman. He's coming from the USHL. I didn't see a lot of bad on that video, but does jump in offensively a few times and dangled well. That's his second game of the season, though.

Buium has been a part of the US NTDP for two years before jumping to the NCAA. There's a lot to like about Buium and he's defense is sneaky good. Yet, I wouldn't make a comparison between Buium (if you've watched him a lot) and Lev's 2nd game of the NCAA season. Lev can't show off his skills at the WJC-20 b/c muh Russia.

I finally got around to watching some Silayev video and HOLY SMOKES! That kid is big and fast and skilled. Very surprising to see someone his size play so smoothly and responsibly. I could see a place for him in Anaheim.

I did watch the video and it didn't make your case at all. Highly mobile, good skater, and physical when he needed to be. It's junior hockey so the play is less structured and that needs to be taken into account. He got caught up ice early in the game but was more than acceptable defensively after that. Probably not a top 5 pick but I think he'll be a riser and into the top 10 by draft day.

Disagree personally. I think this is the last time the Ducks are in the top 5 pick position before the lottery.

They likely would have been closer to 10 if they just had better injury luck.
I know it's easy to forget but Zegras is just 22. We could see a huge step next year.

I agree that winning the lottery this year would be crazy for the Ducks future.
This being the last time the ducks will be in the top 5 pick is exactly why this is the year we need to get lucky and win the lotto

I'm trying to figure out why Nikita Artamonov is not getting any hype. He has the 3rd most points all time as a draft eligible in the KHL behind Tarasenko and Michkov.

Bobs rankings have him at 34.
Craig has him at 38.
EP has him at 20.

Under 6 ft, a winger and russian. Not surprised he's mocked late first to be honest.

Per elitprospects ranking on youtube, not the smartest player apparently. Makes alot of misstakes. They dont see top pairing potential.

I feel like he’s a trap pick…. Don’t think he has the upside of other guys in that range, but someone will fall in love with the idea he could be the next chara/hedman

I dont think this is a situation where its like "big man big, must pick". He is huge, plays physical, and skates really really well. I think he is a more agile skater then power was in his draft year.

If he has IQ issues thats way harder to see in small viewings and you're right that could be a huge trap.

If the Ducks end up picking 5th and the top 4 are Celebrini, Lindstrom, Levshunov, and Dickinson (in whatever order) then they will have a pretty tough decision to make IMO.

After those, a right hand scoring winger (exactly what we need) is available who's already excelling against men.
