Prospect Info: 2024 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

There is no way I take a Russian this draft, unless they would be available to play in NA next year.
Well, Levshunov is already playing at Michigan State. Not Russian but Belarus is close.. 28 points in 30 games for the 6'3" freshman dman. He might be my pick if he's still available at five but I'm thinking he goes top 3, most likely to Anaheim. I'm only starting to dive into the prospects now. We do need Eiserman's goals but we really don't need another winger. If I had to place a wager on who BA takes at five, I think we land Dickinson or Silayev.
Winning was fun the first half of the season, and I know it's not popular around here, but I really want one more top five pick.

I’m always in the BPA train but don’t we really really need a top RD?

Also do y’all think any of these players could play for us next season? 🤣

I've got Levshunov 3rd and Silayev is outside the top 5 for me.

His skating isn't as good as Simashev's, and what I see is a better Tyler Myers...but again, I'll trust the scouts if it is our pick.

Simashev's skating is 'great' for any height...Silayev is a good skater for his height
I think Silayev’s skating is elite for his size. His best quality and the main reason why everyone is so intrigued.

RE: the Russian Factor:

BA and team have made comments about how they like some Russian programs and not others. We know they’ve said this about Yaroslavl Lokomotiv and Torpedo Nizhny Novogorod.

We had contract trouble with Duda and CSKA Moskva. Then later when Fedotov and his brother ended up with SKA St. Petersburg we had contract issues again.

We seem very happy with Simashev and But with Lokomotiv and expect them to sign with us after next season. We seemed happy when Fedotov was with Torpedo. Silayev plays there now. Coached by a very progressive Igor Larionov who really supports young players. Silayev has just one or two more seasons on his contract.

Demidov is with SKA StP and is probably a bigger risk when it comes to contract extensions. SKA StP are also the rights holders of Michkov’s contract but continue to loan him to Sochi so he can get minutes and a sun tan. Demidov they just won’t call up even though he’s demolishing the MHL at historic levels.

In short, I think the Yotes would be eager to take a risk on Silayev but need much more reassurance from Demidov.

We need defense. But we need a star player even more.

We need a star player from NA that we know will play for the Coyote's next year. I think we know who that will be when we win the lottery.:sarcasm:
