Rather stick with Buium or Dickinson as pick. Let Montreal trade that pick to team who wants Demidov or they draft him or not. Wonder if he will slide to Sens or Seattle or ever further? Philly at #12 be kind of funny as they drafted Michkov.

I think our OHL drought ends this year, and maybe even in the first round.

For those here who makes their own lists, where do you have Parekh?

As well, anyone have a list of all the guys we have taken to dinner?

I have Parekh outside my top 6, but if Bill gives his stamp of approval then I'll be on board.

Sennecke?

I haven’t finalized my list but when I do, I expect Patreon will end up 10th (+/-2).

We are publishing an article on this list tomorrow with player summaries on all five of the diners; Dickinson, Lindstrom, Helenius, Catton and Sennecke.

Oh please discus further on discord.

I am trying to piece together the bits I've heard. I think we may only have two D in our top 6. Would it be totally crazy to have Sennecke as high as 2nd on our list?

We want unicorns. That was rhe focus last year and go back even to 2004 when we took Wheeler shockingly at 5 ov. We want the playwr with the highest upside. Recency bias is not a concern.

Pronman’s piece today showed scouts and GMs are all over the map. Dmeidov at 2 or 12. Iginla at 2. It wouldn’t surprise me if we had Sennecke 2nd. Who knows? This draft is crazy. It’s a really stacked in the top 12-14 but there’s just no consensus about anything. It’s honestly possible that Utah, Ottawa and Seattle all get a kid in their top three.

And yet…Helenius?

Mark Edwards basically nailed our list in his final rankings last year, it think. He had Simashev 5th and But 7th, anyway. No way to know about the rest.

This year?

if they think he's the next Barkov? I don't but I watch mainly CHL, NCAA, and a little KHL so I have a bias.

Generally Bill's picks have been free of skating concerns. Geekie would be one potential exception in some people's eyes but I always felt his skating was good and his effort / readiness was the problem.

and his skating looked improved this past year. Now, he's never going to be Federov but he looked NHL average.

I agree! But yakemchuk’s skating concerns are a bit special. In some ways he’s an excellent skater. He’s got fantastic feet. It’s just the stride that has a hitch in the giddyup. So hard to say where he lands on the skating “scale” by which BA & team assess.
