I think that's top 5 regardless if team trades their pick or not. Though Demidov or Lindstrom not sure who will go 4th or 5th. I would imagine San Jose,Chicago, and Anaheim going to keep their pick. Columbus and Montreal not sure what they will do. Columbus could just draft but Montreal's pick if had to guess is highest probability of being traded first.

I wonder if Bill's comment about media having a top 5, and the scouting community knowing that a later ranked guy is actually going top 5, was a hint that we're going that way. That description fits for Simashev. It would also fit for Solberg. I wonder if he's our guy.

Lindstrom is easily my #2 OA.

I can't see any scenario where he falls to us but I'd be doing a certain kind of cartwheel if he did.
Me too...sensible decision is a D but sure wouldn't be disappointed to have Lindstrom,

We need D on the roster now.

If some of our D picks outside the 10 of the draft turn out to be steals (eg Lamoureux, Duda, Kipkie) then our long term D is in good shape. Sometimes 2nd round steals become the world's best defensemen. Let's keep taking swings for that. Kleber, Lavoie, Pulkkinen, Gill. Draft em all, maybe one will hit.

2nd round steals never become the world's best forwards.

He was saying that big market teams leak their surprises early to brace the fanbase and that’s how we see those late risers. Sennecke to MTL fits.

I understood differently... like he was discussing two distinct phenomenon.
1- big market teams leak their pick
2- scouting community knows the risers are going higher than the media realizes

I could be wrong though, I was multitasking while listening.

Solberg plays a pro game. I am on this wavelength as well.

2nd round for Solberg? idk

Simashev was never going to fall past 10-11 (Van took Willander at 11 but prob would have loved Simashev). Maybe was a bit of a stretch at 6 but not really.

Yeah, that kind.

Nobody here is rooting for that type of thing to happen. I guess my point is to be ready for surprises.
Let me axe you a some questions; if Lindstrom is a winger and not a center, is he a better winger than Iginla or Sennecke? Also, if he’s a winger, is he still in your top 3 or even your top 6?

So Silayev previously said Utah and Columbus showed the most interest in him.

Sennecke is one player that Utah is dining with this week.

Any other little nuggets?

Didn't we take a bunch of players to dinner last year and not draft them? Smoke screen?

^^^^ Translated:

No supper with CH for Beckett Sennecke.

The forward will have dinner with Columbus and the new Utah team.

Beckett replied “just basic things” when I asked him about his contacts with Montreal this year.

Met the CH here.

If Lindstrom played his draft year as a LW he would not be in my top 3 but he would still be my top winger and likely still in my top 6.

He's not a certain bet to be an NHL C, but he definitely has potential to be a good one. He'd be more of a shooting C in the Scheifele mold, but stronger and faster and more aggressive. An easy pick at 2 OA IMO.

Senneke is going top 10 based on the noise. Probably top 4-7 at this point.
