Has off ice incident regarding anti semitism, doubt we'd take the back lash even if he may be working at overcoming it and learning.
It was a couple edgy 15 year olds being edgy 15 year olds, I really don't think there would be much backlash (especially since he seems to have moved past it)

There might not be, I just don't see them inviting that in.. especially since we will be picking in a range with other talented guys available.

He says Silayev came out of nowhere 3 weeks ago

Video with highlights here:

I can't get into the draft this year. Not like past years. What I've seen is recent good playoff runs and we draft a Mailloux or Guhle, Caufield. Terrible years and we get a Slaf or Reinbacher. Who will no doubt be the better players but I hate this rebuild. Be glad when it is over. Hope we overachieve this season and make run at playoffs.

Only benefit I see of bad season is if win lottery. But those odds are slim. When star player is at top of draft usually 2 or 3 teams purposely tanking. Making it almost impossible to get a star.

Torpedo just lost their 1st game of the season, they are 5-1, 1st in their conference. Both Konyuskov and Silayev are playing a big role on the back end.

The thing that I liked most from Anton in that last sequence was how he read that the zone would be cleared, and was already in position to gather the clear and start the entry again.

And Catton with 11 points in 4 preseason games.

We will have a chance to add a very good forward prospect to our group. Remember, a guy you all wanted at 5 in Benson went 13th. Skilled guy usually hang around the top 7-15 of a draft, especially when there's an abundance of talented RD and LD in a class.

Gonna watch those games tomorrow.

Let me know what you think, he's my one to watch to climb the draft boards this year.

Great finisher, a physical forechecker, with great hands.. if he can add some playmaking and deception into his game, you're talking about everything you wish Josh Anderson would be.
How dows he compare to Ryan Leonard for now?

Going to laugh my ass off at the collective moaning when the Habs have a Top 5 pick and take Silayev. The fanbase will melt.
I was thinking of a similar scenario: Habs are on the clock and Lane's brother is the BPA... what do they do?

Watched Brandsegg-Nygård's Sep 15th game against Skellefteå, and this guy just gets it. Skellefteå were dreadful, but Mora and MBN beat the brakes off them. He finished with 2+2.

First goal: Freezes the defender with a headfake, skates around him through the slot, and finishes past a sprawling goaltender (must have fooled the goaltender too).

Second goal: Nice shortside snipe from the half wall on the PP.

First assist: In his own zone he picks off a cross ice pass, skates past the pressuring forechecked, lugs it through the neutral zone, drop passes it to his trailer, and draws coverage going to the net. Superb.

Second assist: After a high danger scoring chance, he collects a rebound and feeds it to the point.

He also had a ''third assist'' doing the same thing as he did on the first assist.

MBN always had the puck, positioned himself to get the puck, caused turnovers, picked off passes and made smart plays all game long. Overall a great showing from an interesting prospect.

Things that I didn't really see this game were high level hands, explosive first steps, and rough stuff.

He's not playing today, my guess is he's preparing for a debut with the big team, and that will be very interesting to watch. Can he demonstrate this kind of command of the game against pros?

Emil can do more than snipe. He finished this game with 2+2 on 5 TPS goals. First impressions are that he's a big kid who can skate, he has powerful first steps, and you can tell that he's accustomed to being able to skate around people. He has a deadly shot, and he likes to use it.

First goal: collects the puck off the face off, quick few steps to get to the high slot, wrist shot top corner. No windup on his shot, no chance for the keeper.

First assist: PP, half wall. He draws his man in, finds someone completely open in the slot for the one timer.

Second assist: Collects the puck in his zone and starts the rush. He comes in way wide, and the defenseman bites. He cuts inside creating a 3 on 2, shoots for the rebound, his teammate cleans it up.

Second goal: Takes the pass in the neutral zone with speed, defenseman doesn't gap him up. He turns the poor guy inside out, and goes short side.

You can't really criticize a guy too much after a 4 point game, but he has a lot of work to do on his game without the puck. With the puck is a different story altogether. Comparing him directly to MBN, MBN is much better without the puck, Hemming with the puck.
