Wha's the deal with Eiserman? Last year he seemed to be a clear cut top 3 guy and now he's dropping big time. Is he really that lazy of a player? Is their an attitude problem or anything to be concerned about?

Haven't watched him much but from what I heard, scouts are questioning his hockey IQ and decision making.

Yeah, lets take the generational goal scorer as an exemple to prove our point.
The POINT is that Lindstrom has 46 points in 32 games. How those points are apportioned is not that relevant. It's how many, not how.

I disagree on that.

The type of point and how they are obtained can indicates a lot about a player. Only watching points without the context surrounding it can lead to many bad decisions.

I am sorry but a center with 19 assists in 32 gamed in Juniors... with very good teammates...it means something for me.

How in the world thid dude could feed someone like Caufield for example in the future.

It dépends how we see it....Jeff Carter and Auston Matthews are prime example of centers who has more goals than assists but it is rare

It is exactly how the size thing upset me so much when scouts, Blogger etc always talking about size when we are looking at Lindstrom vs Catton but nobody looked at Lindstrom' s vision so far...

I still cannot determine who is my pick is after Celebrini but it's between Demidov or Catton.
Demidov is a big mystery box since he is playing against lesser competition but the skill level is off the charts.
Catton now has a 1.7+ PPG production in the WHL. Also shown ability to improve which is one of the most important thing for me. 0.5 PPG 2 years to 0.87 PPG last year. And 1.71 PPG this year. So he is still improving dramatically which bodes well for his NHL career.

Edit: I guess I would be OK with Parekh or Buium because their production is ridiculous although I have no idea how their defensive game is.

My basic readings off Buium is he shouldn't have any notable issues defensively; no he's not 6'3'' but I find his base (positioning and east-west skating) is good enough to work with at the NHL level.

Parekh is the bigger gamble. The defensive engagement does scare me sometimes, then again Saginaw has an intriguing style (Mintyukov, though a different projection, also had detractors for his defensive game). With limited information available, I peg him as a risky wildcard; with first hand knowledge of his work ethic, smarts and character, he could be an inspired selection.

If an NHL organization is satisfied with his character and thinks he can AND will work on his defensive game, then I would understand him going very high, top 3-5 even.

I don t know if Parekh is the next Makar but if they think he is and pass over him because they have Reinbacher Mailloux Barron, that would look bad ;)
I actually believe Parekh with Guhle would be the new Keith and Seabrook. That being said, when we could easily be picking in the Top 5, I’m not sure they haven’t locked onto the forward position. With Dach’s injury history we need a top 6 center. Whether it’s Celebrini, Lindstrom, Catton, or Helenius.

Whoever is top of their list when it’s there turn, they should pick.

BPA

Made two giant mistakes with KK and Gal

Very sound analysis. This is something thats very hard for us to have. We can have curated interviews but not much else.

I'm starting to like the idea of taking Parekh if he's there at our pick. If we could run Hutson-Reinbacher and Guhle-Parekh as our top 4 in a few years then that could have the potential to be one of the most dangerous blue lines in the league and it'd give us a ton of flexibility on the powerplay and in overtime.

I could get behind that, Xhekaj-Mailloux bottom pairing, Harris traded, and Barron punted to Switzerland where his defensive game will be revered

Having Parekh and Hutson on the top 4 is a receipt for disaster defensively imho.

Already have Mailloux too.

Parekh is awesome and he's a favorite of mine, but the only two defenseman who make less sense for the Habs is Buium and Silayev
Agreed. The only D i would be ok with drafting is Levshunov. I guess i would also be ok with Dickinson if Habs management sees Guhle on the right side long term but i doubt it.

Parehk is a great gamble. I would be trilled. If so, I would eventualy possibly trade Hutson for a young top6 player.
At 6 or 7, I'm starting to like the option of Iginla, if he's there...

I love Parekh, but look at Reinbacher with Kloten: if you have nothing to work with up front, you’re not going to succeed.
