Lollll

Grant Mccagg and many others should see that.

Again Martin St Louis's quote.

Scouts came to see me until that I played a bad one and come see a big tall player until he plays a good one....
Which is very true.
If a prospect is 5'10 or 5'9 play 9 amazing games but one very bad one. Scout will say, he has talent but that will not fly in the NHL look at this awful game, no compete, bad turnover, not fast enough, etc. The other 9 games won't barely count.

On the other hand if a 6'4 or 6'5 player play 9 awful games but one exceptional games the scout will say, he has so much untapped potential, if we correct this he will be beast. He just has to find consistency with maturity and we have a steal.

That would be just too good, if Lindstrom drops to our spot, thats a no brainer, Hemming is quite underrated, one of the best goalscorers in the draft, he is stuck on a fourth line on TPS, same crap Slaf had to deal with.

So .. is your forward ranking as follows?
Celebrini
Lindstrom
Helenius
Iginla

I have Celebrini, Lindstrom and Helenius in that order. Then Iginla, Demidov Catton in the other tier.

In term of talent, Demidov, Catton should be part of my top tier, Eiserman as well, but Im not ranking those kids on talent alone personally, I like players who competes hard on 200ft and I tend to value other parts of the game in the equation as well. I like puck possession players, I tend to value effectiveness over flashyness. For exemple, Demidov is very flashy and can be effective as well, but some of his stuff wont work in the pros, his top speed is average, he isnt always on pucks and Im just wondering how all this will translate. Doesnt mean he wont be great down the road, but for now Ive some reservations. At the end, I want a team who wins games and eventually a stanley cup, maybe Demidov ends up producing more pts than Helenius for exemple, but Helenius the better rounded player and possibly a better fit.

Thats my own preferences though, Ive no issue with people ranking mainly on talent alone.

Edit: Well to be clear, I have of course Celebrini in a tier of his own, then Lindstrom, Helenius.

Thought that’s how you would rank it. I actually like iginla’s offensive potential more but that could be just because he can try flashier stuff since he plays against junior players vs men.

I love how Iginla plays, his game will 100% translate, but Im still a bit hesitant to rank him in my 2nd tier, could change.

In the way they play yes. Overall I find Suzuki isnt a good user of his all world skills.
Nick's passing game gets a little overrated. I've always said that if he becomes a PPG+ player, it'll be because he developed into a 35+ goal scorer and not a 55+ assister.

As for Konsta, I'd say Hischier or Kadri are two other decent comparables, maybe Gourde too.

Looking at stats make me
Wonder if we’re being too harsh on Eiserman. The guy is goalscoring machine

I would try hard to get a 2nd pick in the top 15, think there’s alot of value there, a guy like Iginla, Helenius, Catton or even Eiserman is gonna fall. Adding two offensive prospects like Celebrini,Lindrtrom or Demidov + one of the guys mention above would be HUGE for the future of this team

I thought Caufield was a sure shot to Edmonton, him and McDavid would have been a sight to behold
I thought he was going to the Canucks. I was at the draft and my Canuck loving friend really wanted him When it was time for the Canucks to pick, I squinted hard towards the Canucks table and swear I could read Benning's lips and he said, 'take the Russian' to his associate and sure enough the rest is history and I laugh at my friend every day.

He’s a point a game player and still improving. I’ll take that.
I love Suze, its not what i meant. I just mean he could be much more if he had more confidence in his skills, IMO. His shot is insane, his hands are on par with almost anyone in the league and his passing is just as great.

Helenius is more like Elias Lindholm
Not heavy like Lindholm at all. Kempe, Aho and yeah I guess Hischier is good.

You probably burned your tongue with this hot take.
Didnt mean it as a slight to Big Nick, I love him. I just mean his skills are more than his actual package IMO.

Drouin was the best CHL player in the world for two years.

Now Eiserman isn’t Drouin, but the point is stats don’t tell the whole story.

Assuming Demidov and Lindstrom are off the board at our pick then I wouldn't mind taking one of the defensemen there and then maybe look to package Winnipeg's pick+a defense prospect+ to move up into the early teens and grab one of Iginla/Catton/Eiserman/Helenius if they fall there. Walking away with one of those guys along with one of the top defensemen in this draft would be a wet dream.

Potentially a team heading into a rebuild would be open to a move like that if they're looking fill the cupboards (maybe a team like Pittsburgh).
I'd be willing to package Winnipeg's 1st, a young defenseman along the lines of Barron/Harris/Bogdan/Engstrom/etc... and our 2nd if it means we could move up for one of those forwards. We're in a position where we need quality over quantity so we might as well use some of our draft capital to move up.
If I’m not mistaken, pittsburghs first goes to SJ if it’s not top ten.

Wha's the deal with Eiserman? Last year he seemed to be a clear cut top 3 guy and now he's dropping big time. Is he really that lazy of a player? Is their an attitude problem or anything to be concerned about?
