He's more 2 way. I didn't say Michkov won't get more points. But if I were a GM, I'd pick Demidov 10 times out of 10.

Equating performance with points again? Shouldn't you have learned that lesson after all these years? Suzuki or Robert Thomas?

Maybe at the same age, but Suzuki developed his defence a lot post-draft.
Demidov isn't more two-way, let that go. He's literally balls to the wall offense. In the MHL he doesn't even need to defend, he basically has the puck on his stick all game.

Both he and Michkov aren't Kane type players, they're not flawed defensively, but they're both deployed as high offensive chance creators, its asinine to say "He's more two-way".

Also Suzuki has always been better than Thomas, the difference isn't 1.5 to 2 ppg, it's like 1 to .9.

I find Catton similar to Suzuki.
Catton skates much better than Suzuki at the same age and will never own Suzukis laser.

Doessn't mean Demidov doesn't do it more. And I presume Michkov does not have a 200 ft game.
Michkov is like one of the best small area player in the world, it's literally his bread and butter.

No Demidov doesn't go to the net more than Michkov.

The things we read on thsi f***ing board man.

Still plenty of time to change of course but considering Pronman's final top 6 heading into last year, i'd say this bodes well.

Celebrini is clear No1, but the rest is very interesting. There are like 10 guys who are very, very close and I am sure pretty much every team will have their own preference.

Thanks for making my argument. Not one GM would pick Thomas over Suzuki. Position, usefulness, and being more complete make teams win (not to talk about the forward momentum of these qualities on points).

Demidov is more complete than Michkov, you might disagree, that's fine I guess. In my mind, it's obvious, as obvious as picking Suzuki over Thomas. Again you go quoting the points. My argument was to pick 2 players with the same points and demonstrate that points aren't everything.

How is it obvious when he plays in a league devoid of any defensive system? Why did Michkov look better defensively when they were both on the same line in the KHL? Why did Michkov play the majority of center, a position he hasnt played in years?

Its just a dumbass smear campaign. Its so dumb. Its fine, the team picked someone else, we can stop lying to ourselves and just appreciate both players.

Eiserman 13th and at the bottom of tier 4.

I’d just try to get a 2nd pick and take him with it if he’s that low.

I doubt that all 4 of those D go in the top 8-9, but I'm still intrigued by Parekh, as I don't want to pass on Quinn Hughes twice in the last 6 years.

So where does Trevor Connelly go? Predictions?
Late in round 1. I would take a flyer on him there with the Jets pick if he's still available. People, especially kids, can change as they get older.

He’s ranked 20th.

It won’t surprise me if he actually goes undrafted. There’s a lot of scrutiny around him.

I predict 2nd round. For the record, I wouldn’t draft him at all. One incident can be forgiven but there’s enough smoke here that you can see the fire.

Kids, and he's still a "kid," can change for the better. And he will 100% be drafted.

A lot of teams will not draft him at all. The scrutiny isn’t what it used to be. There will be a huge backlash on any team that takes him and a lot of clubs don’t even want the headache. Look what happened to Neely last time, people were calling for his job.

As for him being a kid - mistakes happen. But it seems to be a pattern of behaviour with him. He’s a massive distraction.

1) Hello, Michkov is a year older. The level of expectations is higher.

2) Demidov has a grinding game and puck retrieval skills that Michkov doesn't have. In general, Michkov is a much better finisher; we'll see if he can do that at the higher levels.

Smear campaign? You are talking to me, bud. I had Michkov ranked high. I love Matvei, but you have to recognize a one-way player when you see one. Bedard has the same flaws, and Celebrini is the other kind of player in that situation.

Toronto isn't winning in the playoffs because Matthews, like Ovechkin before him, has to recognize his defensive responsibilities before they can win. I prefer the Habs to stay away from these kinds of players because winning with them is much harder. When you get a young Toews, you win much faster than when you get the one-way player.

I don't want to be the team that will deal with the fallout when the skeletons come out of the closet. If you are drafting this guy, ownership will have to approve the pick, and even then Bettman can ban him like Miller/Mailloux if the optics are bad. He is easily a DND.

There’s no way Montreal takes him. Boston and Columbus have also been through this already and won’t want to go through it again…

I think some team will probably take him but I’m not sure. And it won’t surprise me at all if this guy winds up playing in Russia somewhere someday…

Mailloux is a totally different case. One incident and even there the Canadiens got roasted. Imagine the fallout from this guy. It’s not happening here.

A morally bankrupt franchise like Chicago.

I would be betting that Parekh, Buium, Yakemchuk, Silayev, Levshunov and Dickinson are all going in the top 10.

Defenseman always go high and a lot of the tanking teams in the bottom 10 have invested more in forwards than defenseman.
