Anyone watched some Prince George?

Their 17yo goalie is 24-4, Kmec top RHD from Slaf hometown, top scorers all undrafted.

Zac Funk signed with Washington and Heidt was drafted by minny I believe.

Could be someone to look at. There's a Russian goalie, 6'5 absolutely crushing it this year.

Yakemchuk is an absolute menace lol

This draft D group is really impressive, I would definitely consider drafting D if we miss out on Celebrini/Demidov
There will be a ton of good D to pick from with the WPG pick.

And I wouldn't be against using 4 of our first 6 picks on D (top 100ish picks), just not the first one. It's a deep class and none of the top picks are without their own flaws.

For sure. However, I believe our D pipeline is lacking in one area: top end upside, which they all provide

Drafting tons of D with the rest of our pick could work, but I don't think it addresses our lack of potential top of the line up players (either F or D)

Out of curiosity, what are some of the names you would target with WPG pick?

IMO history has shown us that that doesn't always come from spending top 10 picks on D. (At least much more often than is true for forwards)

RHD in that range are Emery, Jircek, Elick, Mews, Brunicke, Badinka. Maybe others will creep in by season's end.
Of those, I've seen Emery the most and liked him.

That's fair!

I actually haven't watch Emery individually yet , he was on my list to watch. Will definitely do that now, thanks!

I agree. As much as we are in requirement of skill upfront, imagine a core of Reinbacher, Guhle, Xhekaj, Mailloux/Hutson/Struble and someone like Yakemchuk/Parekh/Dickinson.

That would be a defense built for a major long term success. Trade someone like Matheson for some help upfront or another first round pick + offensive prospect.

Before of after Demidov gets completely out produced by Michkov every where he goes? Its quite the take, imo. Why isnt Demidov at least close to Michkov in production if hes better?

Michkov has more pure skills. But as far as the best career in NA, Demidov has the best chance. He’s game will more translate to NA style of game.

Yes Michkov has better skills, aside from skating, but Demidov is a pure skill player, just like Michkov lol.

Both are small and russian, what is this even? The smear campaign on Michkov really fried some brains.

Demidov plays more of a 200ft game and goes to the net a lot more. That’s what i meant by « he’s game is better suited for NA than Michkov ».

Since we're almost assured of not drafting any lower than 9OA, the "worst" we can likely do at F is Iginla or Catton, and at D, probably Yackemchuk, Buium or Parekh. Even someone as mediocre as Bobrov/Lapointe probably can't screw this up.

I would like Lindstrom to fall to us that very interesting and sexy profile 6’5 with speed skills and shot but Catton, Demidov, Ignila, Connelly might be just as good … also I starting to come around that there might be a good player available with the WPG pick but no very optimiste for the Colorado pick…
Andrew Basha or Luke Missa or Sacha Boisvert with Winipeg pick
Cole Beaudoin or Carson Wetsch or Nathan Villeneuve with the second round pick

I don't think so.. maybe later 2nd for Carter George or Ryerson Leenders. 3rd round for Vinni.
Maybe St Hilaire or Milota in the fifth round

He's more 2 way. I didn't say Michkov won't get more points. But if I were a GM, I'd pick Demidov 10 times out of 10.

Equating performance with points again? Shouldn't you have learned that lesson after all these years? Suzuki or Robert Thomas?

I find Catton similar to Suzuki.
Maybe at the same age, but Suzuki developed his defence a lot post-draft.
