Passing on Michkov last year and then trading up for Demidov this year would be… puzzling to say the least.

Think we just have to “settle” for Catton or Helenius.

That's not a hard settle to make.

While Demidov would be a very exciting pick, Catton or Helenius may be just as good hockey players in the long run.

Very different players, very different context. Adding an A-/B+ grade asset to our pick (which we have many of) to secure a player our staff likes is entirely reasonable.

Slaf - Suzuki - Roy
Demi/Catton/Helenius/Lindstrom - Dach - Caufield
Newhook - Beck - Heinemen
With their style of game, I could see that third line being fast and tenacious AF. Haha.

Although I don’t like breaking up lines that work, which our first one does, but Caufield with Dach on the second line is a good move

My wishlist:

Montreal's 1st round pick = Demidov, Lindstrom or Ignila.
WPG'S 1st round pick = Basha, Ritchie or Chernyshov/Artanomov (fall due to russian factor).

I know many of you have said we won’t touch him for the obvious blowback but if there’s a chance that Trevor comely falls, I’d like to use the Winnipeg pick to get him.

We're totally getting a D in the Top-5 aren't we? lol
Top 5?…..not a chance with Celebrini, Demidov, Lindstrom and Eiserman as your top forward prospects. I’d even add Catton, these are all legitimate options for us….and that’s if NOBODY selects a D in that top 4 which is extremely unlikely.

Silayev, Levshunov are more then likely being selected in that top 5 which hypothetically leaves us with one of Demidov or Lindstrom….There’s no way in hell we are selecting Dickinson or Buium if those two are on the board…..UNLESS…unless we trade like 2 of our top prospect D for an established NHL FORWARD like Zegras.

Cant wait for that lottery draw, especially if we can secure a bottom 6 or better in the standings at years end.

We all argue we should not pick based on need.

Now we should pick based on next year draft.

Funny.

Reinbacher would be one of those insane D in this draft btw.

The funny thing is we heard the same thing about 2023.. and in the end, Dvorsky and Yager didn't develop as expected.

Trying to make decisions on the development of 17 year olds for the next draft is a bad time.

Lindstrom wasn't seen as a top 10 pick going into the year and now he may be the second forward off the board.

The way we are playing right now, we will definitely picking top 5. What would be realistically left for us at 5?

Scratch out Celebrini, Levshunov and Silayev.. so you'd be looking at the pool of Dickinson, Lindstrom, Catton, Demidov, Buium, Yakemchuk, Parekh, Eiserman, Helenius and Iginla.
