and BPA is defenseman after Celebrini at 1, so that's good news for us.

Every day I pray we are in a spot to draft catton at the end of the year

I can't see how we aren't.

I have seen it more as a debate between Smith and Reinbacher

I like Smith but he does not fit the description of what Gorton was saying with taking a "chance". That type of talk doesn't make sense when talking about Smith but if the michkov situation instead. Because it was an iffy situation.

He's exactly what the Habs are missing. Lindstrom is great but Habs have Dach so it's not necessary. Habs are loaded at defence. They're fine at top 6 C. But they're missing a super dynamic winger weirdly enough

Lindstrom is a fine consolation prize lol. We can move Dach to the wing as he was efficient there last season if need be. Dach Suzuki CC or Dach Lindstrom Slaf would be a gem for the top 6.

Either Lindstrom or Demidov is a jackpot for us.... If theyre gone before our pick, then its a slight drop in the next forwards available...

Lindstrom is more of a winger than Dach.

I'm midly optimistic that we will be. Some have him in their top 5, but that's just their opinion.

Also pretty sure Demidov will be there even if we're not top 5 and that's my own opinion.

He's at the bottom of my list too - that win last night pushed us to 9th.. we will fall back down so it won't be as bad.

Not me - one thing you can't ignore is Helenius' production in the Liiga. At the 10th spot the defenseman you are looking at are like Buium, Yakemchuk and Jiricek.. none of which are clear upgrades over anyone in our system.

I put close to 0 weight on production in Euro leagues. It's just too different from North American ice. I look at Helenius vids and there's barely anyone using their body for more than shooting or skating. I'd pull a safe pick and draft Buium.

I also think there's going to be droppers from here to the draft. Curious to see who drops as overrated eh.

That would be crazy. An average height slightly above 6'3" with a combined weight of 657 lbs. That would probably be one of, if not the biggest line in hockey with skill. I'm allowed to dream right?

I'm a huge Lindstrom fan and I hope he falls to us if we're not picking first

I completely agree, just saying if all else is equal, a player like demidov is missing from the Canadiens whereas a player like Lindstrom, while it would be a very welcomed asset, is not something the Habs don't already possess. But I agree, Lindstrom would basically just become the 2C and Dach moves back on the wing. Unless you want to shift Suzuki to the wing. Both are versatile enough

Personally i would take Tij above Helenius.

Tij and Chernyshov would be nice.

I'd give it better odds that four defencemen go in the top 5 right after Celebrini than that happening

I think you may be overvaluing the quality of our system. If we are drafting 10th and Buium is still available, he would be a ‘steal’ at that point. Unfortunately, he won’t fall that far. He stands an excellent chance of being the second defenceman taken. Some see him being the first.
