I think the Blackhawks will be particularly uninterested in Connelly with the off-ice stuff.

I disagree with the Fantilli over Celebrini debate, but it's close.

The Score released their mock draft with the Hawks getting Eiserman at #2 and Buium at #14. There is no chance the Hawks would select Buium because of his top end speed. If we didn't select Perreault over Moore, we sure as hell aren't picking Buium over someone like Trevor Connelly. Having said that, I think there are some other really good skaters in that 10-20 range that the Hawks could really use. I think Hemming, Brandsegg-Nygard, Tij Iginla, and maybe Catton if he falls. I really hope Davidson doesn't draft Trevor Connelly over some of the names I listed.
I mean, maybe the scouting staff will do some reflection on their drafting methods if Perreault continues to out-produce Moore at the same clip for the rest of the year. Over twice as many points in less games, leads his team in scoring while Moore is sixth.

Eiserman at 2 is lagging behind. He’s not going 2 if the draft is tomorrow.

U can always cherry pick 1 player below your pick that is exceeding, but u reallly need to look at the whole draft,

Perreault was always expected to outscore Moore in the NCAA by a significant margin. It was the same story on the US national team. It was really about the fact Oliver Moore is extremely fast center, while Perreault had foot-pacing issues as a winger.

I still think Oliver Moore is projected to be a bottom 6 buzz-saw for us in the future

Eiserman, Levshunov, or- in the interest of playing devil's advocate- Lindstrom as a big-time upside play

if we get the 2nd pick. I might trade down to around 7 and add another first next year and take who ever is still there between Lindstrom catton Lesvinov and Demidov silanov.

Given how excited they were when he was dropping I don’t think they drafted Moore expecting him to develop into a third line forward. Davidson was trying to trade into the early teens just to draft Moore, you just don’t do that for a bottom six forward.

I remember people were saying that if you played Moore with Smith and Leonard on that USNTDP line that he would’ve put up comparable numbers. I wasn’t expecting him to step in at Minnesota be Logan Cooley but a season like freshman Matthew Knies should be reasonable bar for Moore to hit.

No shame drafting a good third liner if that’s what he becomes but he was definitely pegged as a steal coming out of the draft and that would be short of expectations and frankly puts a lot more pressure on KD to find legit top six forwards in this draft

For me as of now, Levshunov. Eiserman/Catton is close too. If it's one of the latter two, then hope like hell my guy Yakemchuk is available with the Tampa pick.
I love Catton and would be my pick as BPA. Feels a bit redundant in our system though

We still don't really know though do we? Perrault is still playing on the exact same line. Would he be outscoring Moore if they switched places? I find it pretty unlikely.

Would love to see more production from Moore but it's far, far too early to give up on him as a top six forward.

Sure but Perreault leads his team in scoring. Moore is sixth. Regardless yeah the upside is still there but this start is fairly disappointing. I figured his physical tools would carry him through college as a scorer and his IQ wouldn’t be an issue till the NHL

If they switched places, the likelihood of Moore outscoring Perreault is about equivalent in odds to the Patriots making the playoffs this season. Moore doesn't have the hockey IQ to become an elite top 6 forward. Maybe a grinder, but I doubt he becomes a player that creates a lot in the NHL

Who would you guys take if you were Kyle Davidson, we pick second overall and the draft is tomorrow?
Cayden Lindstrom, Levshunov, or Demidov in that order

Too bad because without the off-ice issues he would be a top 10 pick. This kid is noticeable every shift. Outstanding skater, great skill and plays hard. With some added weight and maturity this kid will play

He did something stupid that a lot of teenagers do. He rose above it, instead of doubling down. He seems to have genuinely put in the work to educate himself and do better. That takes maturity and growth.

I highly doubt that situation will put him on any DND list, nor is affecting his position on draft boards.

For most teams I am inclined to agree, but you don't think the post-Aldrich Blackhawks are going to try to avoid that PR hit like the plague? Fair to the kid or not
