Gonna wait until I see what version of Vasi they get back before I get too excited, he can easily get them into the playoffs if he's on his game but some players take awhile before they get back to that level after a major surgery.

Curious what Tampa would do if their pick is exactly 10. I lean towards them keeping it telling their fans they’re confident they’ll be better next year. But they’re not getting any younger. Could end up being a lottery pick in 2025.

If Tampa picks 10th they’ll likely trade it for immediate help

I also watched Spokane and Seattle tonight.

Catton is a freak.

He is nasty. I just love his game. The only downside to him is that he is another undersized forward and we already have a crop of them. But man.. what a talent. I'd take him over Demidov for example if the Hawks were picking in the 4-6 range.

Vasi wasn’t exactly elite last year either.

Catton was underwhelming at the U18s and then had a good Hlinka.

It'd be nice to see Demidov return from injury, he was a big time talent in the pipeline but he also hasn't played in an international tournament since being an underage player (technically his age 16 season, but the gold medal game was played when he was 15 years and 8 months old) at the 2021 Hlinka, so it's hard to give a comparison.

It'd be nice if he avoids signing a KHL extension as he's currently signed only until 2025, which is just D+1 over there and then he can come to North America. Without a bigger sample of games this season, I think there's a good chance he falls.

I tend to agree that 2-8 are all pretty close. IE some have higher celings Silavnov Demko, some have high floors eiserman dickson, some are a bit of both Catton Levishonov, he has the finnish forward in that group as well.

Depending on where the Hawks finish (and ideally he'll be available with the Tampa Bay pick if they side in the 11-15 range) but I'm liking Carter Yakemchuk. I'm not all in on him like Levshunov (I question Yakemchuk's decision making and his skating can be a bit choppy) but 6'3, right handed, can move and mean.. oh and the offense has been there. He might be the right handed Guhle in this draft.

I am not sure where the mid-term ranking will put him,but an ubderctgecradar forward forc the London Knights has caught my attention...6'176 lb right shot winger Sam O'Reilly is doing very well for a pkayer not featured as one their top line go to guys..

I'm 16 GP so far 6g 6a and +8...not sure ifvhevus 2ndvlineborc3rdvkine...but thecwrite up on him is tgat hevplaysxa power forwardcstyle works hard ...has a heavy shot .. and HAS BLAZING SPEED ...I have nit heard any rankibg org put him in the first round.. but if he keeoscpkayibg this wel while playing in a less featured role than their top forwards who have already been drafted, then he could rise up the charts by year end ..As it is now he could be a 2nd rounder target for the Hawks since we know KD emphasizes skating ..But skating a power forward mentality/plays hard/heavy shot sounds like a great set of abilities we woukd want.

Besides..O'Reilly just feels right asxa hockey name..

I admit I have notseen him play yet because I no longer get OHL games since I switched from Rogers Cablevision Bell Fibre tv because our condo corporation switched our provider cobtract over to Bell and the package they offered with was such a good deal ,that staying with Rogers by individual tv streaming method was going to be much more costly.....So even though I do not get a bundled sports package as good as Rigers offers and have to pay for individual sports like NHL or MLB or NBA or US College Sports with Bell, even with thrse add on costs I think still comes out less expensive using Bell...

So I no longer can watch OHL games lije I used to before.

Nevertheless the prroduction I see from Sam O'Reilly suggests he might bea good bet to draft ...as he probably dominates next season when he will get a larger goto guy role ... .
Anyway just thought he might beca draft target we should keep tabs on the rest of this season .

Maybe some of our biard members who do watch London Knights games cam provide their opinions on Sam O'Reilly.?

Another player not mich has been buzzed about yet in the talk of rankimgs ifor the 2024 draft s Saku Koivu's som Aatos Koivu. .but noticed a recent post on him on the main boardsis eligible for the 2024 draft...

5'11 165 lb forward was starring i the u18 league in Finland with 5g 10ac n 15GP but got called upto the sm-sarja u-20 league and has produced very well there aleardy.

So another possible riser as scouts will pay closer attention to him now tfatv he is in their top junior u-20 league ..

In 5GP forxTPS u-20 he has 5g 3a +2 ...still early but he is now clearly goibg to be on the radar of scouts if this production keeps up..

You could probably find a stream to watch it pretty easily.

Celebrini is a good skater from what I've seen. He's going to be the kind of C that is a complete dog to play against, lots of skill but defined by his puck pursuit and protection abilities as much as anything else

Point from when he was drafted or point currently?

The point way back when was a 3rd rounder because of skating issues, which was then corrected.

The best comparable for Celebrini is Joe Sakic offensively and suffocating like Toews defensively.

Hence we are looking at a semi-generational player in the making and he might win more championships than the purely offensive dynamos, because you just can't shake him.
