Parekh reminds me of Antonio Stranges
Is it the skating? Ive seen Parekh live a few times and he's a great player and his numbers are amazing but he's just not a player I would want for Ottawa. Just feels like it wouldn't be a pick that hits. But what do I know people get paid to figure that out

I just feel like that skillset will never ever translate into the NHL unless you are a borderline freak like Makar or some generational talent that we haven't seen before

Brock Otten discusses 2024 Draft D with a focus on Parekh with Sharks podcaster

Spoiler alert .. this is not a Parekh booster fan club interview,

Sportsnet has Dickinson 6th right now. He's got a pro style game. I would be very happy to get him.

I know everyonoe wants a RD but if we move on from Chychrun and/or Chabot this guy could be ready to be a top 4 D with a few years, allowing us to move on from our remaining LD veteran.

Sam Cosentino rankings ... Grain of salt.

I love his mini-eval

He isn't likely going to be the power play specialist he was at the start of the season, but he skates extremely well and handles the puck without issue. Reminds me of Nikita Zadorov.
2 things...
1. he was never a power play specialist in the KHL.
2. He ranks him 2OA and reminds him of Nikita Zadorov.

Is Zadorov a top 4 D? IMO probably best suited to the bottom pair.

I think Dickinson would be a good pick for the Sens. If they have him higher than a RD they should take him.

LOL. I read that Silayev evaluation as well and thought... WHAT?!?!

Nobody in their right mind would take a #2 overall pick hoping they've got the next Nikita Zadorov. So weird.

Someone please tell me this draft is looking elite, we need some good news.

Whoever we would have taken in this draft was not going to help us for 3-4 years. Given that we already have a deep prospect pool with names like Tyler Boucher and Ben Rogers, we were comfortable trading the pick to Montreal for someone who could help us now in David Savard.

All these highly ranked dmen after the elite center prospect reminds me of the 2008 draft.

Stamkos, then Doughty, Bogosian, Pietrangelo, Schenn, with Karlsson a fast riser to 15th.

Hoping the Sens hit on one of these Defenseman that follows the path of a Doughty, Pietrangelo, or Karlsson.
Given how badly I want Parekh, my heavy breathing is intensifying. Parekh will be the next EK if we draft him.

Yeah I see EK in him, he's got the nonchalant stride, heavy stick work and smooth skater profile.
He does look small, but EK was ridiculed over that as well.
Would be a solid pick outside the top-5

In that case, Staios needs to move Chychrun to a team that might also pick in the 5-9 picks. We get Parekh and another stud in the top 5. Make it happen Steve!

When was the last time a team traded a top 10 pick knowing it was a top 10 pick?

Parekh is more of the same IMO, we have Chabot, Sanderson & Chychrun & they are all PMD who struggle defensively. What Ottawa needs is a bigger, tougher mobile RD who can block shots, hit & move the puck out. I would take Levshunov RD or Yakemchuk RD over him since IMO they both fill more of a need. Parekh will likely end up putting up more pts, but because he is on the smallish size will likely also be hurt more & need to be defended more. Levshunov could be gone by the time Ott picks so hopefully they take Yakemchuk RD with their first pick & fill a big hole on defence for this team. And while Yakemchuk's defence is suspect it can be taught & he already has NHL size, strength, reach & mobility. Paired with Sanderson they could be our top pairing for the next decade. They may trade one of Chabot or Chychrun this off season, but I doubt they move both anytime soon.

1st - Carter Yakemchuk RD
Bost 1st - Terik Parascak RW (Giroux replacement) /Maxim Masse RW
2nd rd - Dean Letourneau C/RW (Arnprior) / Adam Jecko RW / Colton Roberts RD /Tomas Lavoie RD
