The craziest part is that this was supposed to be an off-year for Ohtani, because of the limitations to his pitching.

He reminds me of the quote about Rickey Henderson: "If you split him in two, you'd have two Hall of Famers". I think it's going to be true of Ohtani too.

The only thing that taints being the first ever to 50-50 slightly is that it’s never been easier in the history of baseball to steal bases with the new pickoff rules and bigger bases. MLB screwed this up. That series should've been moved to another stadium. Both teams are getting screwed because of Manfred's incompetence. The Mets with the travel got screwed more than Atlanta. No off day for one or both teams and then hours long flights after a doubleheader. It's ridiculous.

Arizona is getting screwed too because whoever wins the first game will have zero incentive to field their best pitchers or hitters in game #2. Not that I’d put it past the Mets to find a way to lose even to the Braves second string but they did finally get a win against the Brewers second string today
