I’d also try to see what to do to get him here. They’ll give him KHL games but give best minutes to their core players. SKA’s a big business. I expect he finishes with low scoring stats. 45 games @10 minutes a game. It’s what happened to Sundin in the “SEL” his D+1 and others.

But Kuznetsov is a C?
SKA is already at 26 player (not counting goalies) before adding a Kuznetsov and most of them are vets. Demidov any saving grace is the u20 rule for the KHL (2 extra spot on the lineup for under 20 players), but that means super low ice time usually.

Can't SKA loan Demidov to another team like they did with Michkov the last two years?
That’s why Hughes’ comments which came out sounding as if he was kissing Rotenberg’s ass is so intriguing.

Sure sounded to me as if it was “Demigod gets regular SKA TOI or we want him to play for our org” ultimatum

If he buys out his own contract it can happen.

he can't since his contract is under 2 years. The only way this can happen is like Michkov, if SKA feels they don't want him they can opt to let him buy out his contract. The rules are you have to do so 1 year in advance, so Michkov would have had to play in the KHL this year but would have been able to buy out the last 2 years. SKA said f*** it and cut him lose but that almost never happens with Russian prospects leaving for NHL.
