I fly to Minsk quite frequently….you can go either Toronto or Montreal to Istanbul, overnight at one of the hotels in Arnavutkoy, then pick your Russian airliner to Mockva. If there’s nothing which I doubt, fly to Minsk on Belavia and from Minsk plenty of flights to Russian city’s.

No need for visa as being Canadian you’re good for 30 days in Belarus but I believe you have both Canadian and Russian passports (my son has both).

It’s about 1400$ to Istanbul and 650$ to Minsk and probably another 300$ to Mockva or St-Petersburg if you went this way.

Did you make time to stop in Romania to see your smoke-show GF that Subban hit on back in the day?

With Demidov, Suzuki and Slafkovsky, the Habs could have three top 30 forwards in the whole league and it's not like Caufield and Dach (and maybe Laine?) will be pushovers either

It feels like the offence of a future contender to be honest
Let Demidov go scoreless for two games and some will be calling him a bust. But hey, it's Montreal.

The hunger, the playmaking, the changing of direction on a dime and the deception it entails, the obsession to improve (his wrist shot was NOT like this in the vids I saw from last season). It's hard to not be excited and to be honest befuddled that this guy was available as 5. He feels like an above-average 1st overall pick

My fairy tale scenario is for the Habs to finish 20th overall while close to the playoffs, win the lottery and pick Martone at 2. With how Disney-movie things have gone these past few months, you never know!

Interesting, I was curious about bans. What airline would you have to fly??
Any airline that isn't sanctioning. Turkish Airlines and the Arabic airlines (Qatar, Emirates, etc) for instance or even Serbian airlines.

Yes. Demidov selection change everything about the structure of the roster. I'm a huge fan of Tij Iginla, but that's a huge difference between having Demidov in the system than Iginla. Demidov have all tools to put 90-100 pts per season, that's huge!!

He'll be the only owner of this blue crystal. The first of so many blue crystals. Every games, he'll get this blue crystal. They'll call that the demigod blue crystal.

You have no right to be optimistic. They'll all bust. :sarcasm:

I almost feel dirty posting that. For a long while now i've been considered one of the most negative guy on the forum.

I was F’ing petrified they would take Tij at 5 after CBJ took Lindstrom. I’m sure I wasn’t alone.

Me too man. I like Iginla, but never over Demidov. If he wasn't there, totally fine with Iggy. But Demidov is on another level in term of talent and production upside.

Aha…his T-shirt says ready, set go but instead of go it’s CKA as it rhymes…HOPE he destroys the K and joins the Habs at years end for the rest of their games.

I’d like to see a Slaf-SUZ-Demidov line and Cauf-Dach-Laine as the second wave of our tsunami of offense!

I was pacing in my basement between picks 4 and 5. Embarrassing.
lol….to me, it was impossible that they would pass on him, as a matter of fact, when Anaheim took Sennecke, I knew Demidov was ours

I thought so too . . . but until Celine announced it . . . and she dragged it out brilliantly . . . you never know.

Its funny. Demidov only had 2 points in 5 games. And now after that one big match hes at 1 PPG lol

The first game KHL with solid powerplay time, combined with increased regular ice time as well. Add in an empty net goal and you are now PPG. He is starting to get comfortable in the teams system and the coach is starting to give him more opportunities.

Of you want to fit in, the only way to do so is to acknowledge that his second goal the game prior to last game counts as a goal even though it was waved off.

It’s the ONLY way!

We all did from 2-4. I has sure Columbus would draft Lindstrom. I has not so sure about Chicago and Anaheim. The ducks took us by surprise with Sennecke at 3.
I was SO sure that Demidov was going to be gone by 5 that I wasn't even considering that he might available, and was stressing over whether we'd have to take a flyer on Sennecke or Iginla. Either way, I wasn't particularly pleased that we'd be using a 5OA on guys like that. But then Chicago and Anaheim both passed, and knowing that Columbus was eyeing Lindstrom, I was getting really optimistic.

I think there are are least two management teams who are going to look back and be rather upset that they passed on Demidov.
