He’s played in the KHL since 2020???
This is Nikishin's 3rd year on SKA. Gritsyuk's 2nd. Both are going to the NHL next year.

Rotenberg seems a lot like my wife. She promises me things I want to hear. Then goes out and does whatever the hell she wants. lol13th forward? Laugh out loud funny, but predictable and typical.
I have no idea what was discussed between Habs management and Rotenberg, but this is less than ideal.
Par for the course buddyRotenberg seems a lot like my wife. She promises me things I want to hear. Then goes out and does whatever the hell she wants. lol
Yeah SKA is not Sochi, he will not be given ice time in front of seasoned respected vets bI think penciling him in as the 13th forward with nothing but speculation is overreacting I guess.
Of course it's not ideal if that happens, I don't think you could find a single person to argue that. I'm just saying that we actually have zero indication of anything except that the SKA brass had a positive 2 hour phone call with the Habs management which seems to me that they're on the same page.
I highly doubt some 19 year old is gonna waltz in and get top line minutes but he'll hopefully be given an opportunity to earn his icetime and that's all we can ask for.
One thing is for sure, if getting 5 minutes a game is all SKA has for him, then I want him literally any place else, pronto. That would be an absolute waste of his crutial D+1 season.
I think that Demidov would start on the Habs' middle six, and the Habs are a better team than SKA.You guys need to chill down and let SKA do their job, it's totally normal that they go slow with him, we would do the same.
TBF, he ended up playing all but 1 game on a different team, where he got a lot of ice time right away. He was lucky enough to avoid the entire situation entirely, he never got the 5 minutes a game treatment.Remember last year when smug and snide commentators here -- the usual geopolitical experts -- were boasting about Michkov's career getting derailed because he was given little TOI in preseason/exhibition matches? How did that turn out?
Demidov is coming off a medium-serious injury, he's barely skated since last spring. He's playing against pros after playing in Juniors last year. He will need to earn TOI just as he would need to earn TOI in North America. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
The season turned out perfectly fine for Michkov and the Flyers, is my point.TBF, he ended up playing all but 1 game on a different team, where he got a lot of ice time right away. He was lucky enough to avoid the entire situation entirely, he never got the 5 minutes a game treatment.
Dammit @ReHabs can’t you see that our house is on FIRE! If we don’t put it out by yelling at it, the whole thing will go up in flames. Everything From the pool house to the dog house! And you’re sitting on the couch telling us to chill. it’ll all be fine! Do you even care about Fido?!The season turned out perfectly fine for Michkov and the Flyers, is my point.
I think Demidov will be fine and whatever happens will be fine for the Habs too. Even if he does play 5min in the first few matches.

FWIW, I'm definitely NOT in the camp that just being around and training with the pros is good enough. At 18, he needs to play as much as he possibly can. This is the time to get your reps in, as many as you can get.
The kid needs a meaningful role with his team in the KHL.FWIW, I'm definitely NOT in the camp that just being around and training with the pros is good enough. At 18, he needs to play as much as he possibly can. This is the time to get your reps in, as many as you can get.
Given how stacked they are, it’s not in their interest to give a kid a top 9 role unless he earns it. He’s there for one year so they aren’t going to sacrifice a vets ice time for someone coming from junior who’s only there for the season. I hope he comes over sooner.Same here - I gotta think that something would get worked out if he's a 13th forward after a few weeks in the KHL. They've already opened discussions regarding his usage with the team.. so if he's just a 13th forward and don't see him bigger than that, I think the ability for Demidov to pay out his contract and go to Montreal would be pretty clear unless they send him to the VHL.

Sorry if it sounded like I was arguing with youWhat 'earning it' might look to them could be different to what it might actually be - all I was trying to say is that if he is sitting there as a 13th forward after the first few weeks of the season and they aren't open to sending him to the VHL, I doubt SKA is going to deny the contract buyout for Montreal to get him over this year.
I don't see a circumstance where he's in the MHL or the 13th forward in the KHL for most/all of the season this year.
