Good list, Big. I'd move Ersson to potential for core and Andrae in useful but not critical. Goaltending is about the only position where I believe the Flyers have a high chance of having the long-term answer in house.Players on current roster who should be considered core players for building a contender in 4-5 years:
Michkov
York
Players on the current roster with potential to become core players:
Foerster
Brink
Players who could be useful but aren’t critical to building said contender:
Drysdale
Ersson
Farabee
Frost
Cates
Tippett
Players who we are stuck with because they were re-signed rather than dealt:
Couturier
Konecny
Laughton
Sanheim
Fisto
Seeler
Hathaway
Drysdale was placed on IR apparently.
#shocked...Drysdale was placed on IR apparently.
Briere has shown no sign he has any interest in Hayes/JVR signings, Niskanen type trades, etc.
They've built forward depth, one reason Lycksell is in LHV is he can't break into the top 9 right now, and they don't want him playing 8 minutes a night on the 4th line (Cates, Poehling, Hathaway all play on the PK as well).
What they need is more top 6/top 4 talent.

Flyers should have signed Tyanulin this past summer. He played in NA for 5 years so didn't need to get used to new culture and spoke English fluently. He's natural LW, played with Michkov for 2 seasons and had great chemistry with him. And he can play hockey. He's PPG right now on shity Sochi team, and he's one of those players who can play both top6 and bottom6 roles equally well. Great skater, gritty, can PK and very skilled.
He's certanly better than Richards and any other Flyers LW but probably Farabee and Tippett. And even then he's certainly smarter than Tippett and can pass. The only problem he's small. But if the same size Andrae can play defense then Tyanulin could play LW for sure.

If Fedotov was to get claimed, so what? The organization loses a contract which they could well afford to do. Kolosov looks to be the better of the two Russian goalies at this point. Makiniemi is with them at LV if they need to bring up a third goalie for whatever reason.Charlie thinks they send down one of the goalies when York comes back. Either Koloslov or put Fedotov through waivers.
I’m not saying that’s the wrong choice given what you’re looking at currently but it’s hilarious they got to this point. Bad moves/evaluations compounding themselves.

beaf***ingFlyer!!!Well yeah but nobody is claiming him with that contract so that’s a moot point. My point was they paid this guy a decent contract & we’re already at place where we’re considering possibly sending him down tot he minors. That’s a bad evaluation/move.
You just know it's an optics thing.Drysdale was placed on IR apparently.
One game? Briere should be drafting that extension as we speak.Fedotov looked much better his last game.
Better a numbers crunch than a shortage.
His last game is the only start of his career where he had a save percentage over 0.839!One game? Briere should be drafting that extension as we speak.

Think Richard is getting a cameo b/c of speed and offense, they've gotten faster but I think Briere wants to add more speed up front going forward. But I don't think Richard is good enough to stick. At least check these things out before resorting to platitudes.
The difference between Hathaway (lowest lineup constant) and Luchanko is just over a minute of 5v5 time per game. The only player anywhere near 8 minutes is Deslauriers. This team rolls lines. You can expect about a minute difference between 3rd and 4th lines. Couturier only plays 4 mins/night more than the 4th line. It’s a non-issue.
