The Jets don't have a 1st round pick and it might come down to player availabilty that floats the Jets boat at #18.

Hawks add Demidov/Levshunov + 18th overall (Several interesting targets) and McGroarty and this team is making major strides in rebuild

I dont expect Hawks to be anywhere close to worst in league next year

I would be all over this but I would think the All American Line of McGroarty, Nazar, Moore would be way to go! I would look at Demidov to add as Bedards future winger along with bringing in someone like Marner. Can you imagine walking away from Draft & FA with McGroarty, Demidov, Marner..whoooboy

But if we reach pick 18, weren't able to move up, and there isn't a significant faller, you jettison that pick for McGroarty in a heartbeat.

Absolutely not. The only 1st round picks that should be available for trade are the Tampa Bay and Toronto ones. The Hawks are in no position right now to be giving up their own. Maybe in a few years if they want to acquire a big name? Sure

Although his foot speed is average, he gives them youth and the size they desperately need at forward. Plus his compete is one of the areas Kyle likes (who is on record saying the Hawks will sacrifice an area they usually covet for another area they're weak at). He is character personified. If Bedard wasn't here, for my money... he would be the future captain.

I would draft Levshunov at #2 then trade #18 for McGroarty in a heartbeat. Sets the team up quite nicely down the road.

I overpay for Rutger’s rights right now to prevent the ‘peg from wising up and working something out to sign him.

If you come out of the 2024 draft with Demidov/Lindstrom/Iginla & McGroarty, you have a top 5 offense in 5 years.
