Listed in this article, I think Dakota Joshua could be a sneaky good pickup. Set new career highs in goals, assists and points while leading the Canucks in hits with 242. Would add some much needed size and physicality to this lineup
Never pay for a lucky shooting percentage though. It rarely is sustained.

Korchinski was fine this year. Played with Jaycob Megna for 4 plus months.
True.. but Jaycob Megna was also playing with an overmatched teenage rookie. Two AHL guys passing like ships in the night in their career, converged for the moment, cosplaying as an NHL 2nd Pair.

These type of names is what I am expecting and not the top free agents, we will see though.

Would love him or Noesen/ Bertuzzi/ Foegle as the banger middle six guy to add to the lineup.

But we'd need another FA thats a tier above them, like a Stephenson/ Marchessault/ or Kaner.

Watching Colorado Winnipeg here. Colorado’s 3rd pairing is Caleb Jones and Jack Johnson. When you have playoff teams trotting out them you can’t honestly say that Korchinski is one of the worst defenders in the league.
I think some posters here underestimate how much being on a dogshit team can make guys look worse than they are, especially on D.

When some people were shocked how bad we were this year, when we had so many bad players as they saw last year.

They weren't rationally seeing yes Jones/Johnson are bad, and at best 7th dmen. But that is legit better than what most of the dmen this year we played were at this point in their career.

Caleb's usage and production of last year were quite equal to Korch this year, but he had a better defensive zone with more experience. But that's his ceiling. Korch wasn't ready yet.

I wouldn't mind raiding the Vegas UFAs. Marchessault, Stephenson and Martinez. Bring them all over. Then add Joshua and that would be good.

Marchessault-Bedard-Kurashev
Hall-Stephenson-AA
Reichel-Foligno-Dickenson
Joshua-Donato-Anderson

Vlasic-Jones
KK-Martinez
EDM/Kaiser-Murphy

C. Jones stinks and cleared waivers for a reason. He’s playing out of desperation with Sam Girard injured and having traded Byram earlier this year, not for a grand design.

No not there yet. He’s going to get decimated defensively if he slots in at C all year. Atleast in the minors he can get used to playing grown men that play at a slower pace. He looked good in a small sample but you have to remember, most of these guys were dogging it at the end of an 82 game season. Franks season was much shorter

Look at Korchinski, the hawks threw him into the fire and he mightve been the leagues worst defender this year. I don’t think he learned much getting walked every game. His growth stagnated and his confidence was definitely lowered

Well, those are certainly opinions.

That’s scenario 1A+++. Dream offseason.

If that happened I could squint hard enough to see a chance at playoffs.
They’d also set themselves up pretty well in 2025 as well. If they can draft Brandsegg-Nygard with the Tampa pick, he could certainly make the roster by then. Maybe they make a play for Nikolaj Ehlers in FA to fill Hall’s spot

Marchessault-Bedard-Kurashev
Ehlers-Celebrini-Stephenson
Reichel-Nazar-Brandsegg-Nygard
Slaggert-Dickinson-Foligno
