VERY happy to hear KD doesn’t want to be in the gutter next year. Sign Kane and another UFA forward on a < 3 year deal and we’re gucci.

Big LOL at Tyler Johnson, what did you really expect man?? He was far from good so how can he so naive here.

To be fair, when he was traded here we just traded for Jones and were basically all in on trying to make the playoffs.

But yeah, he’s been made of glass most of his Blackhawks tenure.

Kinda surprised how candid he was.

Put Korchinski and Nazar in the minors. Let them develop and dominate there. Promote EDM and keep him in the top 4 with Jones and Vlasic. Get rid of Johnson/Zaitsev. Add some high profile big bodied forwards and an extra defenseman.

Nazar is already the 2nd best forward on the roster.

He doesn't need Rockford.

No not there yet. He’s going to get decimated defensively if he slots in at C all year. Atleast in the minors he can get used to playing grown men that play at a slower pace. He looked good in a small sample but you have to remember, most of these guys were dogging it at the end of an 82 game season. Franks season was much shorter

Look at Korchinski, the hawks threw him into the fire and he mightve been the leagues worst defender this year. I don’t think he learned much getting walked every game. His growth stagnated and his confidence was definitely lowered

Korchinski the worst defender in the league? He wasn’t the worst defender on his own team.

Korchinski and Nazar aren't the same.

I made it very clear before the season started that Korchinski needed to go back to Seattle. He proved me right all year.

Nazar is a star. He's ready for the show.

There's risk.

Some players just fall off after an impressive year.

I'm all for 8 years, but it depends on the cap hit. You don't want to get burned on an overpay.
This could be an opportune time to hand out lengthy term of the salary cap will actually start to rise.

Lock in Vlasic (or others) at present day market value. It could be 20-30% cheaper than market value in the not too distant future.

Korchinski was the 3rd best defenseman on his own team this year, as a 19 year old.

Yeah, I get that. You're still taking a gamble based on one season.

But it's all dependent on the cap hit.

North of 6M and you're starting to play with fire.

Anything under is a bargain because even if there's a slight drop off, that's not a cap hit that restricts you much.

For the record, I want Vlasic to keep improving. I want him to play like he's an 8M defenseman. But I'm also more than happy to pay him that much once he proves it. I don't want to pay him that much before he does. A potential 20% discount is nice until it's not.

Korchinski was the 3rd best defenseman on his own team this year, as a 19 year old.
That's irrelevant when there's only 2.5 NHL defensemen on the roster.

While I'm sure it's one of the more likelier destinations for him, the last thing that team needs is wingers.
The last thing a team that was 22/32 in goals scored needs is offense? Not sure about that. Buffalo is a bit better than their standings indicate, but they need more offense. Thompson/Tuch/Skinner/Cozens are the 4 forwards for the First Unit Powerplay, I don't think adding Patrick Kane is a bad thing for them.

The worst? No.

Among the worst? Yes.
Relative for his level of ice time, he's definitely down there for sure. Still a kid, but if the Hawks still suck in four years, everyone will point to him and say he got rushed.

He was also drafted too early, let's be real. Mintyukov was the better pick.

It makes the mistake of rushing him even more glaring because he didn't actually have the pedigree of a 7th overall pick.

He was rated as a top 10 pick before the draft. So don’t let your player preference skew common knowledge.

Yeah, relative to Megna, Tinordi.. it's like who cares, why bother. They were both Waiver Claims and may not be in the NHL at all next year, or if they are it'll be to a similar degree as Caleb Jones (25 games played/12:12 ATOI this season) in a warm body capacity.
