Apologize to the people on here who hate skilled players making skilled plays, but Cal Ritchie had another great game last night to beat the top team in the OHL
I am not trying to get into any arguments, but this is a grasping-at-straws post here brethren. All the concerns about him have been justified based on his preseason and regular season games in the NHL. The point is for him to become a long-term NHL player, not to get his number retired in Oshawa. He got cut from the Avs for a reason and that is because he was clueless on his play away from the puck. He's very skilled, but he has stuff to work on!Apologize to the people on here who hate skilled players making skilled plays, but Cal Ritchie had another great game last night to beat the top team in the OHL
Obviously he's Scheifele. Strome shoots left. Silly guy.The question is not whether Ritchie is a NHLer or has skill or not... it is... is he another Strome or is he Scheifele?
To be fair to Strome, he is leading the Caps team in points lol.The question is not whether Ritchie is a NHLer or has skill or not... it is... is he another Strome or is he Scheifele?
I actually don't think he's a bad player... he's a quite a good player, he's just a type that teams tend to sour on.To be fair to Strome, he is leading the Caps team in points lol.
What's wrong with Strome ?The question is not whether Ritchie is a NHLer or has skill or not... it is... is he another Strome or is he Scheifele?
Soft, doesn’t play defense. Irritates the hell out of coaches despite obvious talent. What's wrong with Strome ?

On his third team… coaches and orgs don’t like these sorts of guys. Eventually the value is there for a different org to take a chance.14g -22 p and +11

Ehh… is Strome really a guy you’ll win with? Hawks also learned quickly to send that guy away (Dach). Two pretty dumb teams didnt make use of his obvious talent.
Depends on the team makeup and the goal.Who would you rather have Strome or JTC?
If he's a 2C, yes.Ehh… is Strome really a guy you’ll win with? Hawks also learned quickly to send that guy away (Dach).
You’d need a 1C that can handle heavy defensive loads and even then I doubt it. He’s a great top 6 C for a fringe playoff team that doesn’t have real aspirations. If he's a 2C, yes.
Yeah he’s basically Ribeiro minus the rapeyness and chronic alcoholismSoft, doesn’t play defense. Irritates the hell out of coaches despite obvious talent.

I just don’t agree with that. Center is too complex of a position for that to work in a role he’s needed in. If he was a 100 point guy, you live with it. As a 65 point guy… you need him to actually play defense in a team with aspirations. If he has good defensive wingers, he'd be fine.
We all have bias and anything I state is an opinion with my own bias and view point behind it. It doesn’t (and nor do I expect it to) change anybody else’s opinion. Recently or not for people, they can have it.be careful @henchman21 you're battling recency bias
I don't disagree with your assessment with Strome and Dach, but I do think that they're the players that tend to need a few change of sceneries/more time to become a well-rounded center. I wouldn't be surprised if within a year or two Strome develops his defensive game a bit more and becomes a legitimate top 6 center... but I also wouldn't bet on it either.Ehh… is Strome really a guy you’ll win with? Wait, are you saying Dach is similar to Strome, because they had both of them right?Ehh… is Strome really a guy you’ll win with? Hawks also learned quickly to send that guy away (Dach).
