That's impressive, but we don't really need this. We need back cheques, IQ away from the puck, and a better idea of where to be in the defensive zone.
Yup... that play may work once every 3-4 years in the NHL and if those types of plays were all it took... Schremp would have been McDavid level.

That means more injuries if he adopts bednar's hard playing style..

I hope he doesn't turn into Bo Byram because we saw how much more talented Byram was than anybody else in the WHL and that hurt him in becoming a good all-around defenceman because he kept acting like Shane O'rr.

To be fair, if he tried to make that play in the NHL, somebody would definitely deck him once.

Yeah... the points will be there. We need to see production certainly, but we really need to see the rest of his game grow.

I can assure you, that "you" need guys with very high end skill who can perform high skill moves with the puck lol

On a team with 3 of the top 10 players along with Mitts, Toews, and Nuke (if he's clean)... there will not be a lack of skill. What the Avs lack is reliable depth who can help on both ends of the ice consistently. A lot of players who are good at specific roles, but not a lot who can help all around. Basically Lehky. Skill is always nice to have, but we need Ritchie to be more William Karlsson/ROR/Cirelli than we need him to be Strome.

Gotta admit it will up his trade value though. Might be more important at this point.

I can't tell if this is facetious or not.
At the time I was pretty serious. Now I joke, mostly... Josh's career has been limited, but I never really bought into him having true top six skill but I actually thought he'd be an elite 3rd liner with strong PK abilities and at the time it was becoming clear Jost really had no future with the Avs. I honestly have no memory of whether Anderson had signed his new deal when this was supposed to have been close to happening or not.

Pokecheque

I’ve been told it’s spelled “Pokecheck”

Anderson was a good complementary winger who played a solid north/south game…until he got that ridiculous contract. Since then it feels like his game imploded.

Anyway, the less said about Jost, the better.
