Zellers scored on Cloutier tonight.
Disgusting assist from Ritchie tonight to tie the game in the 3rd
Yup... that play may work once every 3-4 years in the NHL and if those types of plays were all it took... Schremp would have been McDavid level. That's impressive, but we don't really need this. We need back cheques, IQ away from the puck, and a better idea of where to be in the defensive zone.
That means more injuries if he adopts bednar's hard playing style..That's impressive, but we don't really need this. We need back cheques, him breaking up plays, IQ away from the puck in all three zones, and a better idea of where to be in the defensive zone.
I hope he doesn't turn into Bo Byram because we saw how much more talented Byram was than anybody else in the WHL and that hurt him in becoming a good all-around defenceman because he kept acting like Shane O'rr.Yup... that play may work once every 3-4 years in the NHL and if those types of plays were all it took... To be fair, if he tried to make that play in the NHL, somebody would definitely deck him once. That means more injuries if he adopts bednar's hard playing style..
Yeah... the points will be there. We need to see production certainly, but we really need to see the rest of his game grow.I hope he doesn't turn into Bo Byram because we saw how much more talented Byram was than anybody else in the WHL and that hurt him in becoming a good all-around defenceman because he kept acting like Shane O'rr.

I can assure you, that "you" need guys with very high end skill who can perform high skill moves with the puck lolThat's impressive, but we don't really need this. That's fine and fair, but he got cut because of his defensive game being quite poor.I can assure you, that "you" need guys with very high end skill who can perform high skill moves with the puck lol
On a team with 3 of the top 10 players along with Mitts, Toews, and Nuke (if he's clean)... there will not be a lack of skill. What the Avs lack is reliable depth who can help on both ends of the ice consistently. A lot of players who are good at specific roles, but not a lot who can help all around. Basically Lehky. Skill is always nice to have, but we need Ritchie to be more William Karlsson/ROR/Cirelli than we need him to be Strome.I can assure you, that "you" need guys with very high end skill who can perform high skill moves with the puck lol
Gotta admit it will up his trade value though. Might be more important at this point. On a team with 3 of the top 10 players along with Mitts, Toews, and Nuke (if he's clean)... there will not be a lack of skill. But the Avs won't utilize it. They'll try to force him for 2-3 years in the NHL and then move on if he doesn't work how they envisioned.Gotta admit it will up his trade value though. Might be more important at this point.
Ahh, the Jost. But the Avs won't utilize it. They'll try to force him for 2-3 years in the NHL and then move on if he doesn't work how they envisioned.
Ahh, the Jost.
I'm still bitter the Josh Anderson for Tyson Jost deal fell apart. Its a fine line in those situations. The jettisoned Newhook before his value plummeted, but Jost they couldn't get rid of for basically year.
I can't tell if this is facetious or not.I'm still bitter the Josh Anderson for Tyson Jost deal fell apart.
At the time I was pretty serious. Now I joke, mostly... Josh's career has been limited, but I never really bought into him having true top six skill but I actually thought he'd be an elite 3rd liner with strong PK abilities and at the time it was becoming clear Jost really had no future with the Avs. I honestly have no memory of whether Anderson had signed his new deal when this was supposed to have been close to happening or not.I can't tell if this is facetious or not.
I'm also bitter that we don't have a 5.5 million dollar boat anchor that's averaged 30 or so points. Drats, the rage, the anger, I'm so upset.I'm still bitter the Josh Anderson for Tyson Jost deal fell apart.
I personally think it’ll be good for the nhl and a developmental model? Might hurt the all a bit?Inb4 the rants on players going to college to force trades.
Anderson was a good complementary winger who played a solid north/south game…until he got that ridiculous contract. Since then it feels like his game imploded. At the time I was pretty serious.
