Dallas started getting way too much attention and way too much prowess for drafting because of three/four solid picks that turned out well. Outside of that, the drafting has been pretty bad as is tradition.

The case of Justin Ertel is an interesting one, I am almost certain there is something weird going on here. Either blackmail, make a wish foundation, or something.. because this player should have never been drafted and was. Then, not only was he drafted but he was offered a professional entry-level contract and now he can't do anything in the ECHL. There is nothing logical here that would make this a hockey decision there is something deeper.

Then we have Emil Hemming, the latest first round pick with an 'elite shot' who has 5 goals in 30 OHL games while putting up 0.6PPG. Ouch.. 8th in team scoring. This is a 3rd round selection here not a first rounder.

How about Sebastian Bradshaw? The guy can't even play in Junior A hockey.. what did our scouts see? Not sure. I'm waiting for University of New Hampshire to revoke their invite for how bad he is.

Good thing Scott White and our pro scouts are pretty good talent evaluators so we have Hryckowian, Blumel, and Hyry who could come in and play some games because all of our drafted prospects stink.

Is Christian Kyrou a player who might get a call-up at some point? Just wondering if he's considered a prospect who can make the NHL eventually.

Obviously. The scouting department thought he was a better offensive dman than Lane Hutson. It's just pure politics he's not in the NHL right now

Hemming looks like a bad pick , I agree . Seems like that was one the finish scouts really pushed for . I wish they would keep the late first rounders coming out of the chl .
