Varsho and Gimenez at 2/3 of the up the middle positions is amazing tbh.

Need more offence at 3B/corner OFs but two A+ defenders (3 if you count Kirk) at premium positions is essential.

Honestly, I didn't and don't want a starter. Spend on the pen and bats. Trade for a starter if need be.

If this is complimented by some offensive guys it has the potential to be a sneaky move. Having a gold glover in the infield and outfield is a great luxury, everyone knows we need bats.... curious to see if money is moved out, trades are coming or they blow past spending projections... lots of moving pieces without considering the Vlad situation.

However, Gimenez is 26 (586 games played) and Horwitz is 27 (112 games played).

Horwitz is kind of positionless with us. Don't love him going out but hopefully we sign a bat first DH to make up whatever that production would be I guess?

I actually dont mind moving Horwitz, hes an older player without a home on the field. We can do much better at DH.

Also to the point that we should be building up the middle with strong D I do agree, just figured we would be moving a chunk of farm to get Gimenez so if its mostly just Horwitz thats a great value trade (asset wise)

It’s a shame they couldn’t keep Horwitz but fact of the matter is he isn’t taking 1B from Vladdy, he can’t play 2B, and DH is a revolving door with no fixed player.

I really liked him but he’s a 1B with limited pop. Moving him for a GG 2B honestly is shrewd considering 1Bs never hold much value.
