Shocking.

He has a 4 WAR season last year, 5.3 WAR a year ago and 7 WAR 2 years ago. Elite defensively with a lefty bat but I’m shocked. Steals 30 bags.

Defensr first guy. No bat and we have so much depth at this position. Thought this was Wagner’s spot.

Gimenez contract is terrible;

$10M
$15M
$23M
$23M
$23M
$23M Team option

We better be getting a sweetener back or Springer is going the other way.

Wouldn't be shocked if Wagner is going the other way. I feel whelmed by it right now. He is a pretty safe bet for a 2-3 win player due to his unbelievable defense....but we need to hit lol

Really hope this is more of a money dump than a buy from us. Good player but more defense than offense which isn't exactly what we need. Maybe he can somehow get back to his 2022 form with the bat.

Baseball trade value has him at 10 million surplus. Feels like 1 of the glut of infielders we have might be going back. Wagner/Jimenez + a meh prospect?

I’ve been expecting this (Gimenez getting moved) since his 2023 year tbh. He’s still a quality player but the bat has gone cold the last two years and Cleveland can’t really afford to pay him if he isn’t contributing like his ‘22 season.
As a Cleveland fan, I'm of two minds on this. I agree with you based on the bat, but damn that glove was a treat to watch. Like seriously, you'd see him get a seemingly ungettable ball and go "how the f*** did he do that?" two or three times a game.
