Pagnotta talking many players but what he said about Zegras was most interesting. Said “it’s no secret he wouldn’t mind a change of scenery”. Ends it by saying if a deal doesn’t happen at the deadline, look for it in the summer, “unless he has a change of heart about wanting to stay in Anaheim long term”

News to me.

Zegras wanting a changing of scenery is not something that is "no secret". sounds like more BS from the media to push a Zegras trade into reality.

If this organization is actively pushing Zegras out the door then there is absolutely no hope for this franchise.

When I hear “it’s no secret” to me that’s just pagnotta regurgitating second hand rumour milling and filling in the gaps with whatever seems right to him to spice up his interview. But you never know I guess maybe z is gone by next year after all

Pagnotta is trash. A broken clock is right twice a day. And I’m not someone who is like never inclined to believe rumours but I don’t see it here. Z seems really happy to be back under normal circumstances this year.

Same. I don’t see how it’s some outrageous news. Maybe the reason “ why doesn’t verbeek back him in public” is because it’s zegras who wants out
Just really doesn't check out for me. The dude seems genuinely upbeat and passionate about the team and teammates in every situation I've seen him in.

The fact that P says "it's no secret" gives away that it's not based on anything new. So it's a regurgitation of a regurgitation of a regurgitation of an exaggeration of a speculation. That's a lot of smoke, but still zero credibility.

Honestly every big name kid around the league is getting 7-8 years and North of 7 mill per pay days . Almost every big name from his own draft who trevor even out scored got chunky contracts. Hell is bff caufield got a fat contract while Z got a bridge. You don’t think that doesnt mess with someone’s head. Knowing your franchise doesn’t believe in you the way others do their similar or less skilled guys? Almost every new kid who gets paid automatically has me thinking this train of thought. As well as going from the franchises media darling to outright ghosted on ducks media this past off season till now Only furthers this notion

With this train of thought I couldn’t def see Z wanting to jump ship I just hope it isn’t true

i think once we see what Pat does with Mctavish next contract will explain a lot. i'm not sure about teams giving out these long term deals without players proving it like Utah just did with Guenther who has a total of 50 points in 78 games across 2 seasons...

Pat might just prefer bridge deals over these long term deals at such a young age.

It's the Bobby Ryan situation 2.0.
ryan was a 4 time 30 goal scorer on playoff teams who wanted out from getzlaf/perry's shadow

if zegras wants out, it would probably have to do with the franchise's unwillingness to pay him what he wants. coming off a lost season, he'll need to prove himself worthy of that

Any interesting potential waivers? Would we be interested in Raphael Lavoie or grinder like Pezzetta if available (some posters think they might be waived)?

Jett Woo just got waived and is a RHD. Not sure if he would be good enough to get on our top 7 unless Fowler gets traded. He does have good stats in the AHL, shows a 2 way game and is only 24 years old. Would be the first semi-Asian Duck and got to love the name.

EDIT: Also for Fowler, I'm starting to think Nashville would be the best destination for him for the Ducks. They have 3 late 1st round picks plus some interesting prospects. I'd prefer a better prospect over picks if we max retained, but I doubt they would give us someone like L'Heureux who would be a big welcome addition with how physical he can play as well as having the skill to produce a bit. He is definitely the Predators prototype prospect. Nashville is one of the best places to play, and also better for him financially. Add that they have Trotz and appear to be going for it the cup right now.
