There's a video going around on tiktok and other platforms about how Olivier has never given Man City a red card. They go through similar plays and how He's given other clubs red cards and Man City, absolutely nothing. He's the only ref in the entire country that has never given City that and then UAE gave him 20k to ref matches in the Abu Dhabi. I'm not saying conspiracy but the the visual evidence is pretty damning.

It's never a good look when the owners of a club have the opportunity to pay referees. You would think there'd be some rules against that, but then we're back to the issue of nation-state ownership

Why else would he leaving the Arsenal project mid-season, especially if he is going to the Forest project?

He built the Arsenal team, and is leaving while they in ascendency, before they’ve even won anything? When they are one of the teams that are best positioned to do so?

Something is obviously going on behind the scenes there. There is zero reason to leave especially if he is going to take another job.

The behind the scenes is that his role has diminished some with additional executives being brought in/having their role expanded and also he wants to be part of a multi-club model

Sounds like everything Michael Edwards said when he (also) wanted to get away from Klopp. Neither one of them is/was going to explicitly say the quiet part out loud though

Also why he wants to leave:

Sources have told ESPN that Edu has been approached by Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis to lead their multi-club group with an offer that would include a considerably increased salary.

Forest are giving him bank. Arsenal, probably rightly, believes that their model is bigger than a single person and thus they aren't gonna break the bank to keep a sporting director.

That coked up slob will probably forget the salary he offered him in the morning.

Strange move for Edu, money or not.

Guy leaves for triple salary.

HE MUST HATE HIS COWORKER!!
I mean I’d say he’d rather stay at Arsenal to win things, but he hasn’t done that and he’s leaving for a team ahead of them in the table so yeah that extra money probably is extra good.

I’m sorry, I’m not leaving the Arsenal project, leaving London to go to Nottingham team that (should have) flunked PSR and does not have the long term potential. If we are criticizing players for taking dumb money to go to the Saudi league, the same thing applies here

leaving arsenal for a club with proper european pedigree ;)

On a serious note he's not leaving for Forest, he's leaving to take a controlling position for multiple clubs, including one that won a european trophy last season
Yeah I mean, if he had won something with Arsenal, I totally get it. But leaving having nothing better than ETH ? I’m sorry.

Arsenal gave him all the money and resources. Spent nine figures (maybe more?) in transfer fees to turn this team into one of the 5-10 best in the planet with his players? I’m not leaving that empty handed. I think the only two reasons you are leaving that is if you don’t think they can win/they’ve gone as far as they can go OR if you can stand the people you are working with. Yeah the money is great. But leaving without winning when the team is in its prime is wild

savant is never going to be wrong here because it’s all him projecting onto edu and because unless edu comes out and confirms exactly what savant thinks, any other facts/statements will just be PR

I can be wrong, I was wrong about something last week. It happens. In this moment, I don’t think I am. I’ve given my reasons, don’t have much more to add here.
