There's a chance it never goes away. Stastny had to literally retire for this fanbase to stop requesting him to come back.
Some fans here wanted the Avs to sign Zadorov last summer.

I'm not saying this will be a direct comparison but I've been thinking more and more this season about how he might have a Mark Giordano-like career. Gio didn't break into the league until he was 23 but didn't lock down a spot with the Flames until he was 25 and played in the KHL.He’s 26 years old so there’s unlikely to be much more improvement, but he’s also a weird one because he only turned pro at almost 24 years of age. So, there’s been little pro experience and perhaps some room to grow. Just a weird career tbh lol.
He seems more elusive as well playing with more assertiveness. I've no idea if he'll have enough to play on the second pairing or not, but I think he's solidifying himself with Bednar and earning trust. I'm just thrilled we've got a #5 getting 15 minutes a night. The fact Cale is #20 in TOI/GP at 24:04 a night makes me happier than 10th with 24:46 a night like last season.I'm not saying this will be a direct comparison but I've been thinking more and more this season about how he might have a Mark Giordano-like career. I think what Malinski did this past summer clearly worked for him. He improved his foot speed which IMO was sorely lacking last year despite his great lateral movement, and he's playing strong hockey - especially on pucks.
Can't ask for more than that as a 3rd pairing guy, especially at that cap hit.
Malinski's growth has impressed me. If you want a puck mover that doesn't hurt you often on the bottom pair he's done exactly what's been asked of him.
He's looked pretty good to me , better than PowerNot from the games I've seen or what others have said in the games they've seen.
I've long believed that defense can be taught/learned, though I've received some pushback on that point in here a few times. He’s 26 years old so there’s unlikely to be much more improvement, but he’s also a weird one because he only turned pro at almost 24 years of age. We’ll want Lawson Crouse to postpone retirement. There's a chance it never goes away. Stastny had to literally retire for this fanbase to stop requesting him to come back.

And why has Byram never been close to that good ever since? Sample size man.You guys forget how good Byram was in the cup run while Girard was injured and wasn’t there after the Blues series. I think given top pair responsibility playing with Cale would have brought up the best in Bo, but he was always behind Toews and Cale
Sample Size Queen. And why has Byram never been close to that good ever since? Sample size man.
He’s only 23And why has Byram never been close to that good ever since? Sample size man.
He’s only 23
No regrets trading Byram for Mitts. We actually have a 2C now and a good one. I’m just saying if it was between Girard and Byram playing top pair with Cale, I’d choose Byram. You guys are saying Girard is better than Byram and that’s where I disagreeThis is why we have Casey, so sure.

Obviously de HaanWho do you want to have the puck, Byram or Makar?
Go get him and a goalie, ditch Georgiev, win cups
Just like Zadorov was only 23.He’s only 23
What are you talking about? Big Z is only 22.Just like Zadorov was only 23.
Mistaken, I was thinking of del gaizo, fabbro contract is a bit much tooFabbro stinks

Crazy to remember that they chose Fabbro over Girard
Should claim him just run a Girard Fabbro pairing..Crazy to remember that they chose Fabbro over Girard
