Rumor: 2024-2025 Trade Rumors and Free Agency Talk | Part Deux

They can do Miller for Mitts without trading Manson and have enough left over to fix the 3rd d pairing.
Can they do that? Even with Landeskog coming possibly back?

I want the next trade tonight. I’m impatient and drunk. I want fireworks baby
MacKinnon for Kotkaniemi, Chicago eating MacKs entire salary till his next UFA for 2050 7th rounder, naturally sending Bedard to Carolina as well

Satisfied? 😂

Apparently Pettersson was the one going to the Canes before they pivoted to Mikko. Friedman mentions the Sabres as a team to watch for EP now.

Poor guy might go from having to deal with that scrub JT to possibly being sent to Buffalo.
I would not mind Petterson, but if we could get him, might as well paid Mikko, right?

A Flames fan has proposed

To Cgy:
Ritchie
Mittelstadt

To Col:
Kadri
Anderson

Definitely gave me pause. I wish Kadri was a bit younger, but it isn’t the worst trade by any means.

If they'd actually do that, I'd say yes. They'll be good enough through our contention window.

Kadri is 1C on a wild card team.

5 more years at 7M vs 3 more years at 5.75M.

Happily take Naz over Casey's bum ass even if the last two years are brutal.

Actually Necas and Naz would be nasty together theoretically. Naz is a shoot first center.

Edit.. Necas's speed would go a long way to helping a center like Naz or Mitts, or it should.

I don't think the Flames do that sort of thing. Some sort of front office cultural thing where they refuse to ever retain

No need for retention, just move Wood if needed.

Also they have no clue what they are doing. Basically they are hoping to stay mediocre forever.
Given the economy in Canada, you have to remain competitive if you want to sell tickets.

No longer is it the case where hockey trumps all and the fans will show up regardless. Just look at Winnipeg, 1st in the West and still struggle with attendance. Imagine if they were worse?

On top of that, they're building a brand new arena that costs a ton of money. Last thing fans want is a trash team to play there. However, if management was prudent they would tank the last few years in the Saddledome, sell off players and start fresh with high end talent in the new arena just like Edmonton (unintentionally) did.

I guess that makes a lot of sense. Tough spot if you are hungry for money. You need the star power.

I agree with selling off the players if that was possible money wise. If they want competitive team they need to start from zero. Basically.

They got very lucky Lindholm turned them down for 9million a season.

Not really concerned with Naz’s age when he’s such a good skater. He will be a better skater at 50 years old than Mittelstadt is today in his prime.

Regarding the last two years of the deal, who cares? We will likely be shit anyways.

He knows the system. He plays with speed and bite. Shoot first mentality which would be great with all of our pass first dudes.

Kadri has never hidden the fact that Denver were the best years of his hockey life.
